Here's another thing.
There are no romanceable dwarven companions in any of the Dragon Age games. There are four games now and FIVE instances of dwarf companions - three of which are not Oghren - and zero options for romance?
For comparison, there are six elf companions, five of whom are romance-able.
Inquisition has a romance-able QUNARI who had to have special animations drawn at the last minute so that his comically oversized body could be depicted interacting with the player's, and yet Varric and Sigrun (by far the two most sensible, dependable, pleasant people in Thedas) are still somehow not available for even a nice chat and a movie.
Is this a height thing? Should I be writing to a Congressman about this?

Yeah that pisses me to as well. I think it's David Gaider who was a staunch militant against it because it reminded him to much of having sex with children. Which is kinda bullshit in my opinion. Okay real talk for a sec, Misses Gorvar isn't a dwarf at all but she can considerd a bit small. Doesn't stop me from having a relationship with her. So yeah, write your angry mail to David Gaider and call him a height..hating...person. Yeah!
I would've prefered for my FemHawke to settle down with Varric instead of Anders (another kettle of fish) and a romance with Sigrun would have been awesome. TBH any romance in DAO;A would have been awesome. What, i rule a castle and i cant get it on with my servants or go to a whore house? Also if you try to bring in "But what if your Warden already has a romance", look to ME/ME2/ME3's thing with romances/affairs/break ups.

Is that thing you said about Gaider and dwarves resembling children legit? Did he say something to that effect? If so.... I mean, that's incredibly insensitive.
It is a real shame that there's no romance in Awakening -- some of have Wardens who died at the end and a new Orlesian PC who's lonely and really into Sigrun! I suspect it was more to do with the time-frame than anything - it's a very short adventure, only a week or so in story time, and there's loads of stuff they have to cram into that small space.

Been playing Awakening.
Could this be the most fun, exciting quest in the history of games? YOU DECIDE
1) Walk into the Chantry and find a sobbing woman who is talking to herself - her husband is missing. 2) Go look in the pub and find a torn piece of a note, made by her distressed husband, mourning his shortcomings. 3) Go looking in the battlements for the rest of the note. In it, he is miserable because he failed to get the house the couple always dreamed of. 4) Go to the house in question. There, the man has hanged himself. 5) Go back to the Chantry and click on the wife. She runs off, crying, horrified because an Orlesian woman covered in blood just walked up to her, trailed by a Dalish elf and a walking corpse, and told her that her husband hanged himself and she should go see.
.......
6) ADVENTURRRRREEE
From the people who brought you the Adventures of Sten, it's THE ADVENTURES OF ART VANDELAY

As for what Gaider may have said...I find that interesting given how much he waxed poetic about inclusiveness regarding Anders' Bisexuality. Bit of a nasty double standard there.

If he said that, then yes. Hoping to find out that it was dino conjecture!
Gaider did a fine service with the gay and bisexual characters in the Dragon Age games, and the way their sexuality are broached. Anders - for all his faults - has a very lovely moment in DA2... I wish I could remember how it goes, I think it's a little speech he makes or something he says, after his old friend / boyfriend is made tranquil. It makes a very lovely, X-Men kind of parallel between mages and people in this world who are persecuted for a circumstance of birth. I will check this when I get to playing '2' again to see if I'm imagining it! Pretty sure I'm not. Regardless, 'Origins' broke new ground. Gaider did good, in this regard.

ALSO --- Nosferatu is in 'Inquisiton'. No idea what to make of this. Glad he's still working.

It's obviously Billy Corgan.
Despite all his rage, he is still just an Elven Mage.

Bout what Gaider said. dragonageoffensiveconfessions.tumblr.com/post/90013050825/the-confession-gaider-has-been-quoted-and-thereNot a real source I know but I did see the post myself. Edit; Found it! i.imgur.com/bX7Xoki.jpgBack on topic. I do love Awakening because you get to make the hard calls and such which comes with Leadership. I'm glad DAI will be more like that. As for Anders, again I kinda headcanon it so the one we got in DAII is off screen a lot like he was in DAO:A so my FemHawke fell for him. And since the men in her life keep being pulled away from her (Malcom, Carver and such) she would cling to Anders and run away with him. As for Nosforatu...I think Mr Plinkett said it best in the Star Trek: Nemesis review. "Glad to be working..."

Jesus...... really have gone off Gaider a little there. "They are short" and "The females look like 14-year-old girls" listed as his reasons.
Does he not..... know...... that there are actually dwarves? And that that's about as cruel and moronic a statement as one could make about their height?

Similarly he had issues with Kosinth partners because he calls it fetish like...I think the #ridethebull thing on twitter must've opened his eyes on that one. I dont think he thought of insulting people with their heights and such. Playing devil's advocate here, i think he meant it in-game. Likewise I can see why he wouldnt make Varric romance-able due to the bianca thing...well it's plausible but if you look at the fanabase a LOT of people dig Varric.

Actually I kind of hear him on the Qunari bit --- I think what bothers me about his statement on dwarves is that -- well, dwarfism exists. And it's not polite to ridicule the idea of finding short people attractive and do sicky-face emoticons....... seriously that made me really angry. I know he was talking about fictional dwarves in his statement, not the actual people, many of whom perfectly physically resemble them..... but that's not making a world of difference.
Will calm down about this! You should never meet your heroes.
