So this is what that question at trivia night was about. Somebody handed us Method Man, because we didn't have a clue.

I can't believe someone voted for Method Man after he betrayed Proposition Joe. I may a) know very little about the WTC, and b) be conflating the events of The Wire with reality, but still, fuck that guy.

Goddammit, Glow. Fuck man. I'm not that far into the Wire, yet. It's not something I like to admit, but fuck man.

I know nothing about the Wu Tang Clan... nothing... the only two names I even recognised are Method Man and Ghostfaced Killah... Sorry I can't provide an answer, since I don't have a frame of reference...

I have heard of Old Dirty Bastard because he is on a South Park record I bought at high school. We are some white people over here.

I don't follow hip-hop or gangsta rap or whatever the fuck those guys do. I hear wu-tang and my first thought moves to some kind weird ass name for a tong clan before I think urban street musicians or whatever. I actually still have to consciously move my thoughts from tong to rapper when I hear that name.
tl;dr pickinga favorite is meaningless as I could care less about any of those clowns with the cartoon villain names.

Are they part of the Foot clan? I know uncle Phill was a member.

All the members, especially RZA, are obsessed with Asian cinema, mainly martial arts and Akira Kurosawa films, which they sample in their tracks. So yeah, the name Wu Tang Clan is likely derived from all that.

Oh, now I remember a bit more. How long since these guys were relevant?
