We all like ME fanfiction, but I was interested in what else you people write about (if you do write), story-wise? I'll make a start. And I'm apparently too stupid to use hyperlinks. www.fanfiction.net/u/1422413/Evil Be Thou My Good is a nuV/TSCC-crossover and deals with the confrontation between the Visitor infiltrators and later, their invasion force, and an opposition formed against them by the most unlikely allie mankind could have thought of: Skynet itself. Project: Heaven's Gate is centered on a world very much like our own at the height of the Cold War in the 1960ies where one side discovers a Stargate. It's a story that deals with both extensively, the cloak and dagger intrigue and politics at the home front as well as with the actual exploration and confrontation with, foremost, the Goa'uld. Shades of Grey, Book I: The Oncoming Storm is the first, almost finished part of a massive Wheel of Time AU. It largely features original characters and takes place during the five years prior to the first book of the Wheel of Time series, thus setting up a different stage for the series. There are some cameos of canon characters, including Moraine, Lan and Lanfear, and canon places are visited, too. Tales of Falcon, Fox and Crow, Book I is an attempt at "A Song of Ice and Fire" fanfiction, featuring both canon and original characters. I aborted working on it as the ASOIF community was almost non-existant at that time on Fanfiction.net, and since I have no idea whether people like it I haven't worked on it since.

Woah, that's a lot of projects, Munchkin. What impresses me even further is that you've got stories based on both the Wheel of Time and A Song of Ice and Fire going on. Those two series are easily the most intimidating fantasy novels I've ever seen. I plan on reading them someday, but I don't know if I'll ever be able to finish all of them. Hodster is one of two people that I know who have read the Wheel of Time all the way through to The Gathering Storm. And your profile says you're from Germany! Awesome, I have a friend who lives in Dresden...if that's relevant. o.O The only fanfic that I have going on right now is a story based on Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Probably won't be as long as your Wheel of Time story, but it's closing in. =D www.fanfiction.net/u/1257793/Knightfall1138

Woah, that's a lot of projects, Munchkin. Well, I manage. I guess it helps to have some projects running simultaneously for the simple reason that once writer's block hits for one of them, you still can go back to another. Or so I keep telling myself when I stare blankly at an empty page in MS Word. As strange as that may sound, depending on where you steer your story both universes are, as a matter of fact, rather easy to write in. For example, with A Song of Ice and Fire there are so many blank spots on the map and in the narrative that you could fill whole books in. The trick is to create original characters and integrate the actual plot of the novels and the canon characters on the periphery. If I had ever continued the "A Song of Ice and Fire"-fic, large parts of it would have played in places the actual novels don't touch, like remote parts of the Vale, or the Free Cities. And if you are even only faintly interested in history, the setting is really easy because it's low magic plus, as someone once said 'The Knights who say 'Fuck!' Very Often'. As for The Wheel of Time, yeah, that one's a bit more ambitious, and the longest piece I've written so far. It starts half a decade before the actual books do and is a rather large AU. Features both original and canon characters. Right now I have some problems with finishing the first volume while the plot for No. 2 is already in the works. Nice city, been there once even though its on the opposite side of Germany. Distances in Germany are an.. awkward thing. I'll take a look!

Very nice, I will deffinetly give Shades of Grey and look. I love the Wheel of Time it's my favorite book series. The only thing I've written and posted any where is my The Kaidan Effect story. But thats just a one shot. I am halfway through another ME fanfic but I've gotten lazy. Other then that the only things I've written were short stories for school lol Looking forward to Shades of Grey and Knight you should read The Wheel of Time

Sorry for the image size, but I think I saw that, too: Oh, and I'll be giving The Eye of the World a try very soon, Hodster. Mark my words! Mark 'em!

I honestly didn't have much experience with language in fantasy until I read the Night Angel Trilogy by Brent Weeks and then in Matthew Stover's Caine series. It was interesting. Not quite sure how I feel about it. I mean, I use that language frequently in my stories, but I think I'm just used to R.A. Salvatore's more tame fantasy worlds.

Let's just say that GRRM's style was quite a shock at first for me, too.

WarCraft: The Crimson Tome - An alliance Sorcerer-Spy is instructed by a secret society of librarians and record keepers to recover an old burning legion tome and it's literary translation scrolls that were written by an orc scribe during the second war. Enlisting the aid of a vulgar dwarf paladin, a wisecracking orcish shaman, and a shifty undead assassin, he scours Azeroth looking for clues, and questioning the goal behind his mission. Progress: Seven Chapters Completed, one still half done in a word file somewhere in the bowels of my hard drive (35%) (Link to partially completed story) z10.invisionfree.com/wcrp/index.php?showtopic=1802(Unlinked Stories) Embolded - An Elder Scrolls story that revolves around a redguard, his pregnant wife, and old comrades fighting off a group of marauders attacking a large house in the woods. Somewhat inspired by Robinson Crusoe. Progress: Two and a half chapters completed (10%). I haven't worked on it in a long time but looking back on it, I feel that it is my most well written story. Rolling Thunder - A black comedy fanfic based off an incredibly kickass old Nintendo 64 game series that few people remember called "Battletanx". A human made virus has killed four out of five females in the world. Chaos and doubt for the human race eventually led to civil and nuclear wars. The remaining men then hopped into armored tanks salvaged from scraps and blew eachother to pieces fighting for the remainder of the women. The fanfic itself actually delves deeper into the plot, but it doesn't take itself too seriously. Progress: Less than one chapter completed (Less than 1%)

Are you kidding?! Battletanx was amazing, but it was all about the sequel, Global Assault! =D

Yeah, Global Assault was the first one I played, and played the most. The Co-Op on that game spawned the funnest times I've ever had with my friend. He would always pick a rattler and hog the guided missiles while I was usually an M1A1 or Goliath. It was a blast, but I don't think we ever made it past the Brandenburg gate mission.
Man, now I want to play it again.

I had it for the N64 for a long time, but I can't remember what happened to it. Didn't it have a green cartridge? Can't remember.
But within the past few years, I bought a copy of the PS-One version for like a dollar. Wasn't the same, though. The production values on the Playstation were always a bit weaker.
I might actually go download the rom for it right now. Sounds like fun. xD
