I just woke up from a dream that would actually make a pretty good movie!
Basically I was the leader of a group of survivors in the zombie apocalypse who get hold up in a large suburban house (and also I was Jodie Foster for some reason - never got to the bottom of that). In the house there are a few more people including a terrified Princess of all things, who I now have to protect above all other because apparently Jodie Foster is a serious monarchist. Her chief protector is this cool, sexy hispanic guy who is especially competent and we join forces. Over time we gather more people and soon the house is full of like thirty people. On one raid me and the guy get loads of food and thus everybody respects us and we're able to be 'leaders' of sorts, and we are clearly going to fall in love when we have time. There is also an old lady who is my confidant and mentor and who seems to be calm and strong more than anyone else.
This goes on for a bit until the food starts to run out, and we arrange (somehow) for a big coach to come pick us up, where the whole group will leave the house and get on it, and drive off someplace. After the arrangements are made, love interest man starts rounding people up with provisions and getting them outside the front of the house while I go check on the Princess, but - oh no! - there are zombies who have gotten in through a window at the back! I manage to kill them, and there's more coming at us so I go outside and use the rest of my bullets trying to thin their numbers. When I get back inside and up to the Princess' room my old mentor stops me on the stairs and tells me not to go up. I go up and the princess has been tied up with rope and has turned into a zombie. I have to behead her with a knife, after which the mentor thanks me, hugs me and dies of exhaustion (at this point the dream started to get a bit sketchy) which was very moving and sad.
By this stage almost everybody is outside and the coach is probably here. So I head downstairs and shout for any stragglers to get on the coach, and two guys say they prefer to stay. I try to reason with them, and finally they get scared and come with me. All is looking okay but --- the door is stuck! We can't see through the frosted glass as we push against it and finally just throw it open....... to see that the coach, all our people, and Hispanic would-be boyfriend man, are gone. We were too late. There is a grey van we don't recognise, but that's all. We're wondering what to do when a horde of Samurai warriors start charging downhill across the street at us with their swords held high, but luckily Bruce Campbell steps out of a nearby house, having been finishing off our zombies, and is overjoyed to see me because apparently we're old friends or something. He kills the leader of the Samurai, and says not to worry as he will be fine sorting out the rest with his chainsaw, and then...
I woke up and started laughing.
That may be the most fun dream I've ever had and I will sent a draft of it to Sam Raimi right now. xD
