It's nice to see you back, leiden, even if your creative energies are elsewhere. Priestess, very creepy...although at first I kindof laughed at the idea of Rabbitmen.
Here's another one I didn't know what it was until I started it. Actually kindof like it. Worldbuilding!
10/26
It's tiring, scooping up cloud underfoot and jockeying the wind, but deep and permanent in his mind there is always the sense that it's worth it. Skydiggers, they call them, some weird fusion of earth and sky, an elemental anomaly, these prospectors of the seeded clouds of Elysia. She's a fertile planet, puffed with clouds that pull rust from the ground and store it so the sky during the day is red as blood, red as ruby-riches, and some humans have got to don their face masks and leave their shiny-with-no-rust cities to skate the sky.

"You know, sometimes I wonder if you just have some really bad luck going on," the hunter said. "Maybe you didn't do anything; maybe people just love picking on you." He pulled out a rope. "Ten seconds talking to you, and I want to string you up myself."
"That's what the last judge who sentenced me said," the elf replied. "I just bring out the worst in people, despite my pleasant demeanor."
"'Pleasant' isn't the word I'd use."
"Charming?"
"I'd say annoying, but that's just me."
"I didn't do anything. Really."
"Don't care."
"The warden just likes having me around."

We're getting awfully close to the end, now. I've actally finished writing all of mine, now, in advance. I did try not to cheat by doing that, but my schedule kind of forced me. Still, feels great to have finished the batch! I think I'll do my next one in December. Are you all planning to do more at some point, or just carry on, or are you done?

I was damn lucky to have been rescued from that train wreck. The terrorist responsible (I refuse to call them 'supervillains') got away because Amazagal decided to pull me out instead.
She was enormous. I hate to say it, but I was disappointed. I was hoping for skintight spandex and bright-dotted lipstick. I know everyone says this about physically fit women, but I honestly thought she was a man at first. Her hair was short, but it would have looked worse long.
She saved my life though. 'Batgirl' she said, noticing my expression, 'is in a wheelchair these days.'

Cheers everyone.

<snip> I think I'll do my next one in December. Are you all planning to do more at some point, or just carry on, or are you done? Probably December and onwards for me, barring natural disasters and so forth.

The elf found his wrists bound moments later, and a rather sharp sword being pressed up against his ribs. "You don't have to poke me with that thing; I won't try to escape."
The hunter snorted. "Again, you mean?"
"I wasn't escaping. That was an avoidance maneuver so that I wouldn't get caught, thus eliminating the need for an escape."
"Why don't you ever stop talking?"
"I stop sometimes."
"Like when?"
The elf just silently looked over his shoulder.
"Oh, stop."
"Stop what? I wasn't talking."
"You can talk, just keep it relevant."
"Jail cells are an orgy of disease?"

You've got a running story here, Knight!
The dialogue is really witty. Liking this a lot.

I've been enjoying these, immensely. It'll be sad to see the end of the month, honestly. Kudos to you all!

Thanks, omma!
28th October 2010
Peter was a brilliant scientist. Now, as the villagers' blows hammer onto him, he's just like them. Angry and scared and jabbing a pitchfork and torch into the centre of his viewpont.
Between the fists he sees flashes of white light. Not flashes, no. Sunlight. From the windows.
But what...?
The glorious lightning outside is just still, bright nothingness. His attackers pale away, only suceeding in dulling his senses. His eyes hurt.
He blinks again and again, sees both worlds. Sees a new horror.
The door silently opens. A tall, slender, white-faced figure stands silent and waiting. Teeth bared.

Thanks, Buch! I figured this would be an easy way to kill the last few days. Can't believe it's almost over!

The warden stared at the elf, as if the act alone would cause him to burst into flame. "I wasn't expecting him to be caught again," she said.
"Great minds think alike," the elf replied.
The hunter nudged him on the shoulder. "I just want my money, then you can toss him back into his cell."
"Cell," the warden echoed absently. "This is the third time he's broken out, and the Minister will likely cut our budget if it happens again." She shook her head. "No, no, no, I'm sure he'll hang for this."
The hunter couldn't hide his surprise.

I'm doing just the same thing, Knight Here's the penultimate Peter and Laurie installment: 29th October 2010Mum clears her throat and the kids look at her like she's a monster. Are they bullies, or just play-fighting with Peter? Either way, they run like hell. 'Sweetheart, is your sister all right?' Little Laurie is grinning in the corner, her back bent over weirdly like that bloke from the Frankenstein movies. With the funny voice. Pete actually looks shaken up. His mother hugs him. After a moment, she hears him sigh. And then she sees what they've done to her shed. There's the missing ironing board under the good white tablecloth. Green paint everywhere... …and three… figures…

I admit, I wasn't trying very hard with this. I almost forgot I had an entry due today so I just cranked out whatever came to mind:
10-28-10
Thomas looks at me. "You're in deep shit when you go back to the States, aren't you?"
"I'm not going back."
"But you're a wanted woman! You've even said that there's no way you're not getting caught!"
I shrug. "When I'm caught, I'll be dead."
"The cops don't kill people here."
"The cops aren't who's after me," I tell him. "As far as they can tell, that girl just died of exposure. But my ex-boss knows, and that's what will do me in."
"If the rabbitmen don't get you first."
Being dead isn't a bad option.

"What did he do to deserve such punishment?" the hunter asked.
The warden shrugged, looking over her nails as if she hadn't heard the question. "It's not such a matter of punishment, it's a matter of prevention."
"He's in prison for theft. Small-time theft. You can't do this."
The elf snickered. "Who're you calling small-time?" A joke, though he had since gone considerably pale.
"I can do this," the warden said. "I can, I will, I did." She motioned to a nearby guard.
"This is wrong," said the hunter.
"You brought him to me. Don't be a downer."

30th October 2010
Tonight there are devils about, striding gleeful, an eight-hour season of innocent freedom, the chewy black centre of night, the last night before the grim festivals of light.
Today your kids dress just like Satan like Pagans with tridents, like demons and sirens, begging for chocolate from strangers and secretly dreaming of razors or hoping for razors tonight.
And now we two wait in exhilarating silence for realistic blood and a knife and a violin's scream, for killers and Hammers and bats on a string, rebellious wings, the strength of the female survivor who kills
Michael Myers and shames his dull white. No fear in damnation tonight!
