No!!! No no no no no no!!! I am too damn fat to fit in that contraption. Even If I wasn't there is no way in hell I would pay to be moved around like that.

So where are the reins? ;D I can't see this affecting me much, even if they do become commonplace, I'm one of those weird people who have never left the country before (My family were too damn poor )

The only other country I've been to is Canada, so don't feel bad. I know that the ads all insist that Texas is a "whole 'nother country", but I've been there a few times and I can tell you that it's not. If I'm ever offered one of these "seats", I'll tell the airline staff to just let me sit on the floor. My back is bad enough (to the point where sleeping on regular mattresses counts as torture, hence the floor) as it is.

That would be a painful experience. Those seats are already cramped enough! >=O

Yee-haw! Seriously, though -- claustrophobia, anyone?

Oh, that's dreadful.
Maybe they should just stick passengers in vertical sensory-deprivation chambers.

You mean that's not what those are? Trust me, more than ten minutes in that thing and your circulation will stop to the point where you will have a stroke.

You're right, it's apparently comfortable for up to 4 hours, but then what?

They'll probably just start shoving you out of the plane with those chair flotation devices over large bodies of water and see if you can swim.

They do say it's for short-haul domestic flights, though. I suppose it could be even fun for 40-50min flights. (BUT: no space in front! I'd go paranoid!)

And if the plane crashes(long shot I know) everyone in those seats are hideously injured for sure. There is no room for proper bracing and something can go wrong even on short flights. I doubt there is any airline anywhere that can handle litigation on that scale. Most of the time it is not the crash that kills, but not being able to evac afterwards that kills.

Just lay everyone back flat and stack them like tuna. It's all the same. O.o
