You had problems with him dying easily in ME1? Weird. That was never a problem for me, but I kept him loaded with a sniper rifle.
Yeah, I like dumping Jacob off in the armory as fast as I can too. I never had it in me to have him deliberately killed on the suicide mission (I seem to like keeping everybody alive too much, even the annoying ones), but I did briefly consider letting him have his wish to go into the vents....

I'll admit, I do have a save where I did everything the way my main Shepard would, but killed off all the characters I don't like, and believe me, I'm not too fond of a lot of people on that ship. (Jacob, Miranda, Thane, Grunt, Kasumi and Samara will not be joining Shepard for the conclusion of the story.) Props to BioWare for giving us a way to take the characters we don't like out of the story. Except Liara :/
One thing about Mass Effect 2's story has been bugging me. How does purifying people and squirting them down tubes make a massive robot? And why is it shaped like a human? I know they say it's because it's made from humans, but that really makes no sense.

The Reapers have an artistic sensibility, Glow. Be thankful they didn't choose the volus.

Concerning the human Reaper: IMO the concept artist(s) could have come up with something more subtle (closer to the original Reaper look, if Sovereign was any indication of it), and in that way possibly more disturbing. I thought the human reaper had a hint of a comic effect which didn't quite fit the circumstances.

...it did. Something with tentacles would have been much creepier. Reapers were going the "mechanical sea beast" route prior to this...
Re: it looking human: I don't know, but two arms/two legs/one head is a proven method to get something to function, so...

I actually laughed when I saw the human reaper for the first time!

It scared me the first time when it came back to life. Subsequently though, I just think of Terminator and can't take the thing seriously.

My reaction was just 'What? You're really going with that BioWare?' It doesn't help that both Hale and Meer heap as much melodrama on the pretty undramatic line "Not just any Reaper, A... HUMAN REAPER!!!1" as possible. Seriously, they just needed to add in a 'Dun Dun Duuuuuuuun!' sound effect or to complete the mood.

Never could find good armor for him. All the light turian armor I could find was crap, medium armor was waaaaayy too far down the line in skill points so he ended up staying on the ship.

You know, that movie EVENT HORIZON came to mind today. It had a concept for intergalactic travel that was actually pretty clever. Since time and space are tangible, they built the eponymous ship with the ability of tearing time and space a new one by creating a small black hole. Not sure how you can tell a black hole to send you to a certain place in the galaxy, but it was clever.

I liked Event Horizon, too. Haven't seen it for years, but it was sufficiently creepy to suit my tastes.
