So he's a Jedi who survived Order 66 and unlike other Jedi he's kind of tough and rebellious because he's out on his own. Also he's "dressed pretty simply but he's got the armour so you can tell that he's kind of a fighter," and wears a ponytail because, "y'know, samurai."
That right there is the most original, interesting, passionately-built and lovingly-presented character the Star Wars universe has ever seen. These people are clearly visionaries. Now I'm going to kill myself.
Seriously, at this point were there any Jedi who didn't survive Order 66? If Vader was supposed to have 'hunted down' these people he did a ridiculously poor job.

He did kill a shit load of 'em though. But to my count that would make three Jedi that i know of that joined the rebellion in the EU BEFORE Luke signed up.
As for a cowboy...he has a lot of Ronin similarites really. Hell Clone Wars in te later seasons got good so im giving this a shot.

Well I'm not sure what counts as 'canon' these days, but I could name about ten Jedi survivors of Order 66 who are around up until the birth of the Rebellion or further, not counting ghosts, clones and Dark Jedi. And I don't even count the CLone Wars, which last time I saw it featured the resurrected-from-death Darth Maul and his brother dueling with Palpatine. Actually the Wookieepedia entry says the survivors are 'less than a hundred' and then has a ridiculously long, convoluted list of people. starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Order_66And pretty much all of them are rebellious and sarcastic, too...... Ugh, I know, I know I'm a big grump. I just LOVE the original three movies. They were beautiful. Darth Vader's extermination of the Jedi knights was magical and mythical and fantastic. And every time some jackass with a cheap Disney paycheck meets his targets by creating yet another tough, cocky survivor Jedi (they say 'less than 100' like 100 is their goal for the end of the decade), to me it's like a guy spraypainting over a masterpiece.

This is exactly why I cannot be an earnest Star Wars fan. It has no solid structure! And the plot holes are everywhere. And Ewoks.

This is exactly why I cannot be an earnest Star Wars fan. It has no solid structure! And the plot holes are everywhere. And Ewoks. Pretty much sums up why I don't care that much with Star Wars. Doesn't help that my family never sat around and watch the original trilogy in my childhood. Instead, we've watch Indiana Jones, Back to the Future and Bond movies. Yep, I watch the Bond movies when I was around 4, folks.

It has a very solid structure in the first three films. Don't judge those films by all the rest of the stuff they piled on top of it, man - they're magnificent.
Now I feel like I totally hijacked and derailed this with my wave of negativity....
So what is Star Wars Rebels anyway? New show, or a game?

It's a show, supposedly the sequel to the Clone Wars series. And I am gonna play Devil's advocate for that show I did like the Revived Darth Maul ( Voiced by Starkiller in that series) story arc as well as Savage Opress ( Voiced by the Kurgan). I dont know but I liked the Sith characters a lot in that show, way more interesting then the Jedi arcs. Note there was an Arc where Obi-Wan "died" so he could infiltrate the Separtists...which would mean in the EU Obi-Wan faked his death TWICE in the span of two years. Also I am saddend that the Battle for Jabiim nor the Quinlan Vos double-triple-quadruple spy storyline didnt make it to screen. It was SO good man.
I'm gonna go on a small tangent here so forgive me but...I love the original trilogy, ok? Han Solo is cool, Chewwie is awesome, Yoda is smart, Obi-Wan is all busting makes him feel good and Luke became the Joker! For the EU of that series we all love Thrawn and his Thrawn and how he Thrawned. I even like the Legacy Era which takes place one hudnred years in the future where it becomes more Farscape-e hen anything else ( The last of the Skywalkers is a Bounty hunter with a drug addiction to combat his slip to the dark side and has survivor's guilt so it's pretty hype). But I am going to go on record here and say the EU for the Clone Wars surpassed the prequel films and it felt more like george Lucas knew how to build a world but does not have the tools nor ideas to make a interesting story...which the authors working for Dark horse do...or did. Blasted Disney.

With a brick.
Sacre bleu! Whatever did he do to deserve this?
I... I'm sorry, ma'am, I can't show you. It's too horrible.

Knowing you this would turn into a Count of Monte Christo kind of shenanigans and we both end up dueling with light sabres on the Eye of London whilst the city burns behind us as Duel of the fates plays. ... Cant wait to throw you into a volcano you limey son of WHORE!
