That was fast. I've expected them not to announce it till at least next year. Great, another distraction for 2011, that was my final year at uni where I have to focus on developing a game with other students in order to graduate! Oh wells, I would still play it and enjoy it... even it might be the death of me for playing it while I'm supposed to do hardcore game developing for my final year.
They did mention that they wanted to shorten the development cycle duration, now they nailed down the game's engine already. So I'm only half surprised by the news... if the rumours are true.

That will be one hell of a temptations, Tillian! lol As if the year isn't hard enough.
That's very quick - DA and ME sequels maybe being announced, even demonstrated so soon? How do Bioware work so damn fast?

Simple Buch, the writing for 2 and 3 was likely done at the same time. the Game engine is perfect as is with no need to change it again. In my opinion elements of ME3 were being worked on even as Me2 was in final production. I heard it could be as early as Q1 2011. That may only seem like one year of development, but if you consider the work that went into it during ME2's release phase it is probably more like 18 months.
It's a big team, but they are not all needed for all phases of production. As much as people like to rag on EA, they are keeping the development money flowing. As long as bioware makes them money Bioware will never have a lengthy cycle of sniffing around for development cash again. I think it is fair to say that finding developing money is one of the longer phases of production. Bioware gets a pass because they make money and good games. As long as EA stays hands off (I have no reason to believe that they have any control over the game aside from writing checks) I am all for it.

I have this theory that Dragon Age 2 was almost completed by the time Dragon Age 1 was released, and that BioWare simply jazzed up the title they had been developing for the original Xbox once EA bought them out for Profit. This would explain why they had tons of DLC and an expansion pretty much ready to go within the first few months of DA:O's release.
If Dragon Age 2 shows infinitely better production values, then my theory has been proven and I shall retire to the Bahamas to avoid BioWare's hit squad. xD

I dunno. They're saying that "listing" the games was an error, which means one of two things: They are showing them but didn't mean to announce it like that just yet, or they aren't showing it at all.
I'm hoping for the former; I need this announcement! xD

I'm going to guess that we'll see trailers, but no game play footage until next year. They'll make more money letting these games sit on shelves at full price a while longer.
And they still have all that DLC to work on, as well as start ME3 and DA2 DLC.
But I could be wrong. E3 is pretty unpredictable most of the time. Hell maybe we'll see Duke Nukem Forever (lol)

We'll see. I'll be slightly disappointed if there's no little signs for ME3 or DA2 but fair enough if they didn't want to rush it, which is probably a good thing. I rather see BioWare taking their sweet time to make their games if it helps them to keep in high standards.

Wow, if true that actually seems unnecessary. Unless they change up the engine again the graphics will look dated by then. I'd take such speculative posting that a big ol' grain of salt for now.
We'll see.

ME2's graphics look a world better then DA and DA still did well. They have a good engine for ME right now, I hope they don't change too much. Just ditch resource gathering since its awful.

Well, no announcement so far. There's still a chance, but I'm not betting on any ME or DA showings anymore. It's been a hell of an E3 so far. I haven't been excited about Nintendo's lineup in years. Here are some personal highlights: -Fable III trailer -Nintendo 3DS, it looks effing amazing. Wii-level graphics, 3D, and a more manageable online system. Some titles at launch: Star Fox 64, Animal Crossing, Kid Icarus, Resident Evil, Pilotwings, and possibly a Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake. Really excited for that. -All the other Wii stuff was meh, with the exception of Kirby: Epic Yarn and Donkey Kong Country Returns. -BioWare showed off some more gameplay and details concerning The Old Republic. Still looks like it has a lot of potential, but I need reviews first. Never buy an MMO on the first day. Really, really excited for the 3DS. Depending on more reviews, I'll probably try to get one at launch, especially if Star Fox 64 is involved.

Oh I like that look of that! Shame about DA and ME though... I guess Bioware is all about The Old Republic right now.
BTW Knight I'm starting to fully believe your Dragon Age XXbox theory.
..
I have something to say about that picture-
