I don't trust her either thats whats great. In fact I don't trust really any of them. At least Grunt and Zero are loud, Thane is just quiet.... Miranda I'm not sure about and Jacob I think I can trust him more. Mordin is a doctor.... Tali is about the only one I can trust.

I got bad news... I really hate to be the bringer of doom but sooner or later you guys might find out out so I might as well spill the beans now. your Love Interest from ME1 isn't going to join your crew in ME2. Yes... Kaidan, Ashley and Liara of all things. I'm not making this shit up. Someone from the BioWare forums confirmed it. Even Casey Hudson cofirms it of all things meforums.bioware.com/viewdevposts.html?topic=707459&forum=144Untill I see that copy or a scan of it, I'll refrain from bitching over it too much without some decent grounding in my eyes. So for me, it's Mordin and Tali now. I'm not touching SubZero with a ten foot pole. If she breaking into my private quarters in hoping for some bunk action, my canon Shepard will scream 'rape' imediately.

That is...I don't know. That's weird. I can't imagine how they'd get away with that.
See, it doesn't matter TOO much for me. I didn't enjoy Ashley, and Liara was sort a weirdo. The only one I cared about was Kaidan, because having him around reminded me too much about the good times of KotOR.
But, honestly, the only one I ever want on my team is Garrus. Why, you ask? Exactly.

Actually I was expecting this. It sure would have been nice to have a romance continue across three whole RPGs though. That would be a first I think?

At least they'll still be in the game though. I'm prepared to give all the new squaddies a chance though, even Grunt and Sub Zero. If you expect something to be awful, it normally is. That's not to say I think they'll be good, but i'm willing to trust the company that gave us Garrus and Wrex.
I do hope we can get some full body armor for Subs though, i hate those tattoos

New mechcanics in game? Fine. Biotic abilities that kinda close to the Matrix? Fine by me too. Love Interests being regulated to NPC? Well fine. Psycho biotic crew member so psychotic that it even makes my grouchy Shepard looked poised and professional? As long she didn't stick a bullet in my head, fine. New Love interest on the tray? Nuh Uh. My bitch of a Spectre has her own standards.
I don't mind at the thought of having to visit your Love Interest every now and again or some diablolical plot that forces the said Love Interest from ME1 to be seperated temporary as long they are ok but... what I'm concern is about BioWare force shoving down your throat to forget about your old love flame and move on to the new. I was hoping a continuation with your old flame. What I don't want to hear is "why your-said [insert love interest name] doesn't work out and moved on".
One of my picky pet pevees here when it comes to storytelling and RPGs in gaming is continuation. If they are going make this game a trilogy saga in the continuation of Shepard's biography, they better continue the the saga itself. I don't want another James Bond-esque plot hole here. This about an actual realistic sci-fi story, not some wo/man's wet dream in a video game.
On the other hand, either way, I hate to admit this but.... this will be the first BioWare game I've decided to play as a no-romantic-shenanicans marine in my canon. I can't believe I've said that my canon Shepard will decide to focus on her job and quickly turn down any sort of romantic offers in fears of her distraction and being unprofessional. Especially whenever a romantic option araises, I would give a shot no matter how shit house it is (*cough*NWN2*cough*). Even they are interesting... it doesn't feel right to go James Bondish again.

This doesn't surprise me and honestly it will be better this way so I can focus on my job, I don't want my love interest involved with this suicide mission.
Liara has her own comic.
Ashley who knows probally was on one of the colonies that was taken by the collectors (could happen too Kaidan too)
Kaidan is the only one I will truly miss because like Knight said it brought me back to the Kotor days.
So yup I don't feel like they are forcing new romances onto you.

I agree Hodster. Concidering Shepard might forced to be imprison in some stasis pod at Cerberus HQ for 2 fucking years. I'd say by then my Shepard is going to be more pissed off and angsy to the point she'll be more scheming, cold, calculating and bitchy at the prospect of going to get carked in the mission, so I've highly doubt she'll have time to settle down and have a fun fling at the bunk; concidering the stakes she's facing.
And yes you right about Kaidan, He does give and odd warm fuzzy feeling... going to miss him but as long BioWare promises that they will be ok in ME2 and still has a continuation to it then, I'll be more forgiving with this.
Still as I'm going to say it again: Duty first before bunk time.

I am sad that you can't keep your old romance, but not surprised. New romance plots will make it more accessible for people who didn't play the original.
I'm sure you'll be allowed to not have another romance - but no doubt Bioware will have come up with an excuse to make it okay in the plot - maybes years have passed and Kaidan, Liara and Ashley are all dead? Or something.
But I must say - if Shepard makes three or more romantic relationships over the course of her battles against the Reapers - all forbidden by regs - she is going to get a reputation!

All three of them are in it though. Maybe you can still continue the romance a bit without them joining your squad.
They can't just relegate the love interest to a tiny NPC role in the sequel, can you imagine if they did that to Carth and Bastila in KotOR II?

Buch! Don't say that! I don't like the idea of BioWare doing an ass pull with force shoving Shepard to get a new lover kind of a way due to the extremes (eg: They are dead or they are in a shotgun wedding during your disappearance before ME2). That's a cheap technique in terms of storytelling... even in games. I'm sorry but this ass pull trick reminds me of Twilight, especially Breaking Dawn. I'm quite haunted by the worse character derailment ever with that so I do not want to see the likes of that in ME2. They are BioWare for god's sake, not Myer! Anyways getting back to this in a calm way before I'm going over fan dumb again. Yeah I know. I can picture the Citadel Tabloids detailing Shepard's Sex life within the Normandy...s/he get a damn reputation as a James Bond wannabe. ANOTHER reason why I'm going to be single in ME2 Still despite ligitamate reasons behind their reduced roles in ME2 (well I hope BioWare have a damn good reason to fucking do so.) I'm still sad not to have Kaidan walking around with my canon Shepard as her a right hand man. I'm kinda pissed off with this but I suppose it's their game and it's in the late stage... so I suppose we might have to sit back and see what's left of the game.

Still as I'm going to say it again: Duty first before bunk time. Duty is heavier than a mountain Also the more I think about it I think there could be a possiblity that Ashley or Kaidan we're taken by the collectors.

Oh, they're still in the game?
Well then Bioware will have to pull some clever writing to explain that.

All of the old 6 have roles in the game, even if Tali is the only one to rejoin.
I'm hoping Ashley or Kaidan aren't killed by the collectors, it'd be such a waste, and would make the Virmire decision near worthless.

That's the part I'm worried about. I just hope that either Kaidan or Ash isn't dead in Mass Effect 2. As Mr. Glow said, the Virmire choice will be in vain regardless. Also as I've said before, that's lazy writing and a nasty ass pull technique.
As Evil Chris said before, Your existing romance is not dead in his post.
Well they better not be dead!
On the other hand, if the game comes out and the newer love interest is interesting, I will be willing to start a new Shepard in ME2 just for that.
