Well back in the Pet Hates thread I've did bitched about how a single painting takes so long to finish. Well here's the progression so far. Yeah I have to figure out the colour scheme of her clothes, the research on the settings, character development build, concept thought etc, etc. Yeah that was fun, but it took too long. It's not like ME fan-Art where you get the picture stright away. This takes a lot of brain power to think through about my orginal character. Anyways, that's where I'm at atm. Still not finished. Needs more working to do.

Its really good for a photoshop tablet made picture. I always hated that tablet but then again I have dyspraxia and dyslexia so my mind boggles at having to move a hand one way and look at another screen. Really like her top. Whats the actual picture about?

This is the vampire pic, right? It's looking great. I like your style, and this is a neat character design too.

Portrait of of the main character and her animal enity; for my flagship visual novel, Empires in Fragments. (Still trying to figure out a suitable name for the novel, since I prefer to use the title for the whole choronicle.) I was planning to set the backdrop as more a steampunk slum city when the picture is finished. Her name is Amelia Stalfenberg and her wolf companion, Eldamus. Yes you can't see the wolf yet because I haven't worked on him yet but he'll be in the picture in the final version. I could tell you about her back story and the world itself but it will make me sounded like SMeyer whoring herself with self-premotion. Not that I'm arrogant but atm the storyline is not finalised. I gotta check again to make sure it's sounded like a good story not a fan wank. Thanks for the feedback I'll try to finish it up asap because I'm also work on the concept art of a Mothership/floating city for the novel. -- Yes, it's the "vampire" pic. Btw, A vampire and her wolf... didn't that sounded wierd or wrong eh? EDIT: OMFG! I feel like an old bag now. I found some scans of my VERY old pictures that dates to waaay back when I was a tempermential teenager bimbo. Here's a sample of them: Damn... I feel like an old bag now lols. Just by looking at those pictures. If anyone wants to know why my style is far away from those manga style because my course at Uni discourage students to draw the same manga style over and over again and tried to veer their students into their own unique 'style'. And also that's a small faction of pictures I did back then. I have like 70 to 100 or more. Can't remember but it's countless let's just say that. Even my DeviantArt account only has a tiny faction of all my pictures including the current ones I've did in my sketchbook atm but I just can't be stuff to scan them all. O.O

Cutie manga style stuff. I prefer the peacock myself though. Always loved still life, animal pencil drawings. I was kind of weirdly obsessed with that through high school and college.
The manga stuff reminds me of a friend of mines from college. She used to be really into drawing cutsy things too. lol Cutsy is never bad.

I agree, I'm very fond of my phoenix sketch. Sadly someone stole it which made me sad I will be painting another phoenix painting in the future though, now I got most of the basic skills for photoshop under my belt. -- No offense but looking back at these manga pictures, it's a double edge sword for me. On one hand the nostalgia comes back to me but on the other hand, I feel jarred at the same time due to the fact the skill execution and the jarring mistakes like the eyes are crooked, some parts are not in the right proportion, etc, etc, etc.

Hey practicing skills isn't anything to feel ashamed of. We think those mango pics are great and really show where you have come from. Its like feeling bad about your first steps. They were stumbles yes but damn that was an achievement wasn't it?
Well any sketches I am more than happy to stare at for hours. I love pencil stuff. Though oddly I do a lot of acrylic and water colour paintings nowadays. For a hobby of course. There are way too many artists in my family to ever want to be competitive with and I decided a long long time ago all art was a hobby to me. Do you think artistic skill is inherited or just a nurture thing?

Well I've did achieve something during my latest painting... I've managed to finish within a couple of hours xD I was trying to see if I pull out a good speed painting that didn't last for weeks and here it is. tilliancatcher.deviantart.com/art/Self-Portait-127623683Well like "Shepard on Shore Leave" painting, this one is too big for embedding the forums so I had to put a link there. And yeah... I hate to admit I look better in paintings than in RL >.>
