Ah, See, I fell in love with Star Wars after playing Jedi Knight; Jedi Outcast, so it was more about the Jedi and the Sith to me. I'm not sure I'd seen the films before then.
(As for Leia, gold bikini notwithstanding, she still kissed her brother. That's beyond distasteful.)
Either way, we should at least be able to agree that KotOR 2 was awful.

I loved Jedi Outcast. When I played that, I had sort of 'grown out' of both Star Wars and video games. On a whim I bought an Xbox, feeling bored, and rented that game, thinking it would be nostalgic fun. I loved it, and the next game I bought was KotOR. Since then - well and truly devoted to Star Wars and as much a gamer as I ever was.
Berillian Ale... in a clean glass... (Kyle Katarn rules)
KotOR 2, I dunno... I wouldn't call it awful. I think, given the epic ending of the original, the game was utterly unecessary, and it certainly wasn't as good, and of course it has no bloody ending.
But I like it well enough. Some of the characters (Kreia, the Exile herself, Sion, my favourite Bao-Dur) are excellent, and it's basically more of the same in terms of gameplay.
It's a decent game, but what a shame about the ridiculous ending. Kreia goes to Malachor 5 for no reason, turns evil for reasons beyond my comprehension, has you fight a bunch of Sith and kill them all off, then gives you eight years' worth of exposition, then dies, presumably of embarassment. And then the wrecked Ebon Hawk is okay again and they all go home.

ok ok Buch ... wow Buch has never been so animated before. I will borrow Kotor off of my brother-in-law and see what i think of it ok. I know he sings its praises but he also has a lot of bad to dish out on it too. Episodes 1- 3 sucks so bad. Episodes 4-6 were better but I still fall asleep during episode 6 at the exact same point every time. I love chewy and most of the characters but I will always stand by the idea that Star Wars is iconic for its time and nostaligic but it is not all that. I have a serious sci-fi collection and I can name better unknown movies. Enemy Mine for instance is one of my favourite old sci-fi's. If you have not seen it you really should. ___________________ Back on topic. Very enjoyable author. www.fanfiction.net/u/1546871/R-I-C-A-R-D

Not a chance. Seriously though, Luke would knock Revan's confused, amnesiac, non-gender-specific block off. Hey, up yours, buddy. But although I'm hesitant to say it, because KotOR is still a driving force in my life, I'm not so sure it was better than the movies. One of the main reasons that KotOR was so awesome is that it gave you the opportunity of feeling like you were traveling around with people similar to the main cast of the Original Trilogy. For every character in KotOR, there's a character that corresponds to them Carth (Pilot) = Han (Pilot) Bastila (Love Interest) = Leia (Love Interest) Zaalbar (Wookiee) = Chewie (Wookiee) HK-47 (Comedy Relief Droid) = C-3P0 (Comedy Relief Droid) Jolee Bindo (Old Sage) = Obi Wan (Old Sage) And don't get me started on T3 or the Starforge. Mission Vao, Juhani and Canderous are the only three I can't really find a place for, but I left them on the ship anyway. xD KotOR was a great experience, that's a given. My favorite game, hands down. I don't think the story can compare with the movies, though. I just think it seemed a lot better because we were the ones experiencing it, almost through the first person. Just like I don't think the Mass Effect main storyline would have been as good had you not been able to interact with it. (Come to think about it, the KotOR and ME stories are pretty much the same, eh?)

Purely for the sake of argument-
With the exceptions of Zalbar, T3 and the Star Forge, I'd say they were archetypes rather than copies of the original film characters. Bastila, Carth and Jolee are quite complex characters with unique twists on the classic roles they fulfil.

Holy crap I'm late to this. First GO BUCH! I think that the Movies are better then Kotor but Kotor is one of my favorite games of all time. Unlike most star wars fans I like ALL the movies. My least favorite was episode 2 but I still liked it.
Kotor 2 was awesome except for the ending. Kreia was my favorite character in there. I would also like to say that by the 2nd Kotor I'm glad the the jedi are practically wiped out (Revan: Thats what they get for tampering with my mind)
One reason that the movie is better is that on my Kotor disc there is only one problem. When I tell Zaalbar to kill Mission but right before he kills her the game resets... I was mad that I had to kill her myself.
Kyle Katarn does rule!

I really like this random Watchmen Fan fiction. I'm currently reading the 3rd sequel to this story which is the best one of them all but you guys need to start from the beginning here. www.fanfiction.net/s/4922893/1/Breath_and_Skin

Recently I've managed to read Knight's Mavelious Adventures of Darth Bane.
Quite snarktacular I have to say but it's enjoyable particually the card games.

(I co-write on that ) (But all the good bits - including the cards - are his.)

Thanks very much for reading, Till!
Yes indeed, Buch co-writes on it, and the card part is just as ludicrous as it is in the novel the fanfic is based on, only ours is better because it involves Clint Eastwood. xD
We've had many discussions about the novel, Path of Destruction, where we just rip it apart, so I figured we could channel those thoughts into a parody. It did turn out very snarky; we're terrible people.
