Yes, I'm nerding out full-bore on Ghostbusters right now.
The poll above allows you to pick your three favorite members of the Ghostbusters family. With the exception of Slimer, I've included everyone who's worn the pack and/or thrown a trap in the movies, games, comics, and cartoons (Slimer excepted, but he's part of the family so I included him, though I do remember watching The Real Ghostbusters as a kid and recall him throwing out a trap on occasion).
My top three
Egon Spengler: his laconic personality and dry wit coupled with his immense scientific knowledge make him probably the most well-known of any of the Ghostbusters crew. One of my favorite lines of his: "I had part of a slinky... but I straightened it."
Winston Zeddemore: those who look at the shallow dimensions of the character consider him the "token black guy", but in reality he represents the "everyman" in the crew, despite having a doctorate himself in Anthropology per his updated bio for the newest videogame set in 1991. His practical attitude and his view on the world makes him the member most can easily identify with.
Kylie Griffin: introduced in Extreme Ghostbusters, this goth chick is the newer generation's equivalent to Egon in terms of paranormal knowledge, but she remembers to dumb it down for those of us who can't get past the technical nature of "Spengler-ese" language. Plus, I have a weakness for a goth chick who can be a bit of a ball buster and can take care of herself.
Honorable mentions.
Ray Stantz: his child-like enthusiasm for new paranormal experiences flip-flops between endearing and annoying, but he's eminently likeable and he just has this knack for finding the fun in even the worst situations (fighting Gozer aside).
Slimer: what can I say about this loveable slime ball? He's practically the franchise's mascot, the most recognizable character overall, and even had his own Hi-C drink in the "Ecto Cooler" which I miss terribly despite it being out of production since 2001.
So... what say you, fellow forum members?
