The bit with me -- yeah fair point Clint, I was being spiteful. Annoyed, you know. Hey Lindas, I think this chunk of posts probably ought to go to the 'Oh fucking hell' section now.

Gorvar could chew it up with his teeth but because his arms are so tiny, we'd have to spoon feed him...
*Waves from t-rex proof secure bunker*
Lily I took no offense. I think that was the most clear exchange we've had on the topic.
Buch - no problem... It was actually funny. A "good for you, John" moment. Like in 1776, the musical. The whole bloody thing they've been trying to get the Declaration passed, and at the last minute, our lead guy pops up to interrupt with a grammatical quibble. The rest of the group just look incredulously at him, and he gives up, prompting Franklin to quip "Oh, good for you, John!"
A sample..."I'm obnoxious & disliked, did you know that?"

I'll just leave my thoughts here and then leave this thread be.
To me the measure of a man or woman is in their actions and character, not in something I consider superficial such as race, creed, sexual orientation, etc. A good person is a good person and I'll gladly call myself their friend if they'll allow it. To me, calling someone "friend" is very high praise and status in my personal life as I'm willing to endure hell itself for a friend and to me, they're family in all but blood. Of course the high standards I set for calling someone "friend" means the people I count among that number is quite small, but I think of it as quality over quantity. Believe it or not, despite our incredibly heated disagreements, I consider Buch a friend though he might not feel the same way. That title of friend extends to everyone here, from Cali to Lily to Gorvar, to Rascarin, etc. We have our spats and disagreements, but I feel we're all good people looking to do the right thing even though our points of view differ.
Knowing what gays have been through throughout history, I strongly sympathize with them. While I won't be marching in a pride parade anytime soon, the gay friends I have are treated the same as any other friend I have and my ear is always open when they need it. Let's face it: gays have been ostracized throughout modern history and faced genocide at the hands of the Nazis (please, no invoking of Godwin's Law here, I'm just stating a fact).
That said, however, I do get annoyed when someone's agenda gets shoved in my face and any disagreement or cautions I have result in me being labeled a bigot, no matter what their agenda/beliefs are. I'm a patient sort: to use a gridiron football example, I'm a strong proponent of the philosophy "3 yards and a cloud of dust". What that means is focus on the small victories and they'll lead to greater victories later on. As an example of what I mean, a gay man wearing rainbow briefs and nothing else rollerskating down a sidewalk shoving their views in someone's face will likely turn fence-sitters against the whole group as a rule. But a gay man or woman who is what most perceive as "normal", save for their orientation (if you'll forgive me that choice in wording), who makes logical arguments wins over more people. In my own community (gun owners/2nd Amendment supporters), we have a serious problem with idiots who waltz around with ARs and AKs and scare the shit out of fence-sitters by living down to the negative reputation the anti-gun crowd spins on us and they do far more to hurt the community than help it even though they are a minority in said community.
Back on topic, we're all human in the end and I strongly believe we all should have the most opportunities available as equally as possible leaving it to individual ability and merit to determine how well we fare.
