That's a thing to think about too. Mass Effect was part of what made me take up my hobby of writing, and it got me some very good friends.
Fertile... wha... Okay I need to read the entire post before I begin my reply in future.

It's been a good ride. Kinda ended crashing, but we're all cool. Right?

No ME means no "Halo of Flies" from me which meant I wouldn't have had to deal with the insanely complicated registration process for ff.net that drove me here. For better or worse, ME is what it is. I can always AU my fic to fit my interpretation of what's going on.

I'm mixed about that one when it comes to ME. On the one hand I would continue to play WoW for a bit longer, before I'm calling quits, but then I get to focus more on my original content and probably start making myself some buck with my techno-fantasy web comic by now, instead of working on a fan comic that could be the biggest waste of time ever.
Well I guess all I can do since I'm stuck here and there's nothing I can do to change the past, I might as well go into an AU mindset and imagine that the canon timeline and lore is written by Templars or something. Yeah, I could roll with that. Seemed feasible enough and the easiest hand for my mindset.
EDIT: OK, I'll take that back about my current fan comic. At least it forces me to push my Art skills harder, including learning the anatomy and figuring out the right PS brushes that suits your personal taste.
Without ME3, I would not have found the pencil brush. I love that brush.

I said it before but I really hope they won’t go the prequel route or worse A reboot. I want to go forward to 50 thousand years later and never be told if my Shepard came back via the Destroy ending. The stargazer scene already hints that it might stay a secret. Since all the facts where lost over time. I can live with that since The story I wrote will still fit. If that is the case then the fanbase gets to have the final word on what happened to their Shepards. Although they could also create an entirely different galaxy set in the Mass Effect series. Space is vast and so its not impossible. If showing what our choices did to shape the galaxy in the long haul is to much for them, well this could answer that issue with out doing a prequel.
