I think (sadly) humans are the red shirts of ME, and for the the people one do not know red shirts are people that died too much on star trek....

It doesn't seem that way to me. the red shirts were largely nameless security dudes who died without having much impact on the episode aside from having died to show the danger the big three were in.
On the contrary, the humans in ME are constantly taking the lead role in fighting the Reapers. It could be effectively argued that the Reapers would have curb stomped the council at every turn without them. Quite the opposite of red shirts methinks.

Humans take a lot of casualties in the war against the Reapers, no doubt - especially if you take a paragon route and sacrifice 'your' own men to save non-humans.
But the only real, proper 'red shirts' in the traditional sense are my two heroes - Richard L Jenkins in ME1 and the evil Wilson in ME2. I remember being surprised that there wasn't a soldier who accompanied me and then died at the start of ME3 too. I guess there was the little boy... Dodged a bullet there, Vega.

Well weren't exactly gonna shell out whatever they paid Freddy Prinze on making him a tutorial sacrifice. Not even EA is that wasteful...I hope...

Was he?? You mean Trask, the guy who teaches you how to 'Press the A button to equip your clothes' and other such useful, non-fourth-wall-breaking emergency advice? That was Mark Meer this whole time?

I must check this. *checks IMDB* Citation needed. I cannot find any reference to this either in Mark Meer's IMDB page or the voice credits for KotOR.

Is it bad I see in my mind Linders actually pulling up a tricorder every time he checks IMDB? I think it's Mark Meer anyway, read it someplace I dunno.

That would be... Logical I did not see an entry for Trask on the IMDB page for KotOR, but they usually do a pretty good job of posting the uncredited stuff.

Sure, Lily can be Uhura a la Star Trek 2009 if you like. Fits with her job actually come to think of it.

Trask was obviously a Metal Gear character who died and got sent to the KotOR universe, Mass Effected-style.
