I'm toying with writing a horror story.
Basically, it's the 2040s, and a seemingly peaceful PepsiCo convention is interrupted by the vengeful cyber-ghost of Geoff Keighley, who picks the employees off one by one.
It's called "Give the Devil his Dew"

Last year at University part of my coursework was a series of 8 poems about childhood called 'Growing Up Too Fast'. I've just put it up online! wink Now I need to leave poetry alone and think of a story to write as my final piece.

But in all honesty, a couple of months ago, back around the time GTA V game out I was fiddling with a story where a group of three anons from 4Chan, with personalities heavily based on their respective boards (probably /v/, /tv/ and /a/), meet up in real life to try and pull off a robbery, like in GTA V or Payday. It would be a parody of heist films, video games and online culture in general. (Different internet communities being inspired by the protags and starting their own criminal enterprises)
I was revisiting it the other day and for some reason it amused me to think of having Geoff Keighley become the "final boss" of the story (probably because of his immense capacity for both vidya and corruption), the head of a syndicate of criminal game journalists. I can just see him threatening the protagonists into doing his bidding, then getting into his convertible with the personalised license plate "ISHILL4DEW" and driving off.

A while back I did this 100 words a day thing. I decided on an short horror story involving a guy stuck in the ISS during the zombie apocalypse. Might send it to some website when it's done. I decided to go back to that, make it a short story of sorts which is his suicide letter of sorts which is different from the diary format I used in the previous one. Not sure I like the suicide letter format better than the diary one...might have to ask anyone if they are interested. It's only 5 or so pages.

Careful not to go too World War Z on it. (Additionally, the book for that travesty of a movie is awesome)

I did not read the novel but was there a chapter in there from the ISS? If so i may have been premature into claiming the space zombie tale thing there... Thing is I wanted to explore isolation, the literal high tower and removed from the masses below and how it would work on someone's pysche. It's not about the zombies or the survivors really, its about this one guy who is cut off from everything.

Another thing to consider is your character realizes he's already dead since the ISS can't function without regular resupply from the ground (food, potable water, oxygen, air scrubbers to remove CO2, etc).

Yeah he knows he is going to die of affixiation and such. He isn't even an astronaut so chances are if something breaks he is super screwed. Damn didnt know bout that aspect of the novel though, thought i had something original.
