Yuthura is brilliant. I really like her. Breaks my heart when I rescue her from Korriban only to Dantooine explode right after.
But no, if there were a Force-based War going on right now, we would totally be mortal enemies. I love Revan and Vader and Yuthura and Sion, too, but a lot of them are just silly, self-centred psychos. And the whole murdering each other thing is dumb.
Ever since Alec Guiness I've been in love with the Jedi Knights. Knights are cool - wearing brown is cool - sacrifice and heroism is cool - Luke Skywalker is super cool - they win.
And in these Darth Bane books, the Sith come across as a bunch of morons. Bane included.

Unfortunately, most Sith are just "I lieks to killz peoplezorz lol", like Malak. Malak is a complete douche. But Revan is evil with style.
To me, I just prefer a conflicted, evil character over a goody-two-shoes.

I like a conflicted anti-hero. I love Jolee. But a conflicted hero is good too. I don't like evil.
Oh Malak is an idiot. He's just trying his best to be Vader, but sillier-looking. And did you notice he pronouncess every line with the same emphasis? The last word is always laboured and deep.
"Find Bastila, and bring her TO MEEEEE."
"You are all things, Revan, but in the end you are... NOTHIIING."
"Surely you remember the battle in which you were... CAPTUUUUURED."

Awesome Robes Rascarin nice stats!
Meh I like Revan and Vader and such. The Jedi are cool and if in real life that I had the force and there was a force war I would probally be on the lightside, unless somehow I truly do become twisted.
If I was evil I would hope that I was a more Revan Evil and not Malak Evil.
The Jedi in Kotor just annoyed me at times especially in Kotor 2. In Kotor 2 I wanted to kill the Jedi and I cheered when Kreia killed them.

I think the worst thing about Malak is that awful red, skin-tight thing he wears. Because nothing says evil overlord of the galaxy like red spandex and a blue scarf over one shoulder...

He looked fabulous. Or he would if it weren't for the big metal jaw thing.

Malak was a proper villain for the game. I liked the metal jaw thing.

You, sir, are wrong. I did like how his being blunt and big and brightly-coloured contrasted with Revan's black, mysterious brilliance, thus making you feel a million times cooler than him when you beat him.
Just going back to the light-side vs dark side thing - it also felt super-cool, as a Jedi, to apologise for leading him down the dark path, tellhim off for sticking to it, and then make the guy realise the errors of his ways seconds before death. That's the ultimate victory right there. Kill him and make him feel stupid and evil.

I've got to get to bed. This has been a lot of fun though.

Yeah me too. I give Malak a lot of stick, but he had his moments. I did like that 'you are all things' bit too.

I love Malak. I think he was supposed to channel all of the proper Darth Vader moments to make you think he was the ultimate bad guy. This only heightened the shock value for me when I realized that I was the real ultimate bad guy.
