Get ready to have your minds blown: I agree as well. Someone who is incapable of putting rounds on target in a safe manner shouldn't be given a carry permit.

Mind=not blown.
You have consistently been about safe use and control of these tools. Had you said any different I would likely have lost all respect for you in this manner as it would have contradicted much of what you have previously posted about this.

I think he was doing a sarcasm. Pretty sure he was as well. Still I have validated the fact that I have actually read his thoughts on this topic as the many many walls of text going back to page one would would make one wonder. Also, it is my perverse pleasure to respond to facetiousness with a deadpan response at times. I'm a bit of a prick that way.

I was being a bit facetious.
And right now I'm waiting on Buch to tell me I'm some sort of horrible person who doesn't like blind people or some such.

But the real important thing is that he is not within firing range of anyone here right? There was not one, but 2 kids within his line of sight during this exercise of 14 attempts at this idiotic stupidity.
I hope a police officer that knows him sees this video and confiscates his rifle, he does not deserve and is not qualified to handle one.

Idiots like that shouldn't have guns. Or cars. Or children. Or oxygen. Good thing is idiots like that are few in the gun community. The bad thing is they tend to be a lot more visible than those of us who are responsible with guns. ETA: that truck isn't going to stop a .270, or any rifle round for that matter. For reference: www.theboxotruth.com/docs/buickot4.htm . I'm flagging the video as inappropriate due to the complete lack of safety.

What a dumbass... now, I know next to nothing about guns, or gun safety, aside from the common sense part - as in, when the gun is not in use, PAY ATTENTION TO WHERE IT'S POINTING! At a couple points before he made the shot, I saw him just randomly holding the gun but paying no attention to where it was pointed, and at one point it looked like if it were to accidentally go off, it would shoot one of the kids in the head...
Gah.

Even better: HIS TARGET DOESN'T HAVE A BERM OR ANY KIND OF BACKSTOP BEHIND IT!
I mean holy shit, even if he hits the target he has no idea where his bullet is going to end up.

And yeah, I noticed the flimsy nature of the target as well... would a little brick wall be enough? Or would that cause other problems? Maybe if he were to get some bricks and make a small wall maybe a little bigger than the target, just in case? And what if he missed by a lot, where the hell would the bullet go, and what poor innocent passerby might he hit?

A berm is basically a built-up pile of dirt that outdoor ranges use to catch bullets. It's a required safety feature.
And bricks won't reliably stop rifle rounds, plus they're a ricochet and shrapnel hazard. Even a weaker round like the 5.56mm NATO used in the M16 can punch through brick with enough shots,to say nothing of a full-power hunting round like a .270.

Basically a back stop behind the target, usually sand or earth to stop a bullet after it hits or misses it's target. Given that rifle ammo is lethal at over 1 KM something life that is pretty vital to keep from injuring someone who may be located behind that target well out of sight. Edit, ninja'd

Thanks, Iron and Linders! Good fast replies!
I was not aware dirt was enough to stop a bullet... I would have thought the bullet would punch right through it...
Guess I have a lot to learn about guns and stuff...

It has to be pretty thick but dirt has to be one of the best bullet stops there is. It's why we use sandbags as barriers when we set up defensive positions. Some unscientific testing of sand: www.theboxotruth.com/docs/bot7.htmNote the guy in the link I'm providing has a berm behind his target in case he misses or his bullet penetrates through his target.
