Yes, it's another Alan Wake piece. I think this is quite different from most of the other stuff in this thread (that's not to say anything posted here is bad of course), in that it's a ballad, and it actually exists in the Alan Wake universe, as a song written in the 1980's. It also contains mild spoilers.

Quite possibly my favorite video game soundtrack of all time (Morrowind and Super Metroid coming at close seconds). Diablo.
This game came out in 1996, and the music was so ahead of its time. A guitar, and ocarina, a clarinet, and a synthesizer. Four instruments making unbelievable beauty.

Couldn't agree more, Cali. The music in Diablo was so haunting.

Never played Diablo before or listened to its soundtrack, but I checked it out on youtube and it's indeed very good. And just on four instruments, too! Thanks for sharing.

Not only is this song catchy, it's also a true Big Lipped Alligator Moment!

This song was used in the Borderlands commercials (might be in the actual game, too). Had it stuck in my head for weeks. ><

That was a very good song, it fit the tone of Borderlands from what very little I've played of it.
I need to get that game sometime.

Poet and the muse is incredible, really gotten into some of the Poets of the Fall stuff since being introduced to them in Alan Wake. Here's a couple i grabbed off my youtube favs...
Piano version of Terra's theme (ff6)
Opening for Tales of Vesperia (best japanese style rpg made for the 360)
And a couple favs from the megaman series

I hadn't noticed how great Assassin's Creed II's soundtrack was until recently.
