I really, really loved the music from Dungeonsiege. The game was so-so, but some of the orchestral themes still stick in my head from time to time. I'll try and hunt up a sample.

I know, your mirage may vary but Bayonetta's version of "Fly me to the moon" is quite catchy. Good enough it make me sing along while kick the crap out those angel mooks, while playing on the 360!
First time a game makes me want to sing a long while playing.
Also one other thing, once my crack fic is posted on the forums, I dare you to listen to it while reading the bar fight section for maximum effect. ;D

Some good choices here. Must say I'm very partial to Daytona, Virtua Racing and Donkey Kong Country as well. The Lotus tune was also awesome. I knew of the game, but never played it - looks like a nice Outrun-style romp. I can't remember much of the music from KOTOR (been a while since I played it), but I remember the ambient music on Manaan being excellent. In 2005 I made myself a compilation of all my fav game music, and it covered seven discs! I need to make a sequel, since much great stuff has been composed since then, not least Mass Effect! Here are a few favs (well, nine): Panzer Dragoon Saga - 'Sealed Spirit' (composers: Saori Kobayashi and Mariko Nanba): Sonic CD - 'You Can Do Anything/Toot Toot Sonic Warrior' (composer: Masafumi Ogata; vocal: Keiko Utoku): NiGHTS into Dreams - 'Suburban Museum' (Spicy ver.) (composer: Tomoko Sasaki): Silent Hill 2 - E3 2001 Trailer music (includes 'Promise', and 'Theme of Laura') (composer: Akira Yamaoka) - Mature content!: Earthworm Jim Special Edition - 'What the Heck?' (the music with the humorous screams) (composer: Tommy Tallarico) (features 'Night on Bald Mountain' by Mussorgsky): Donkey Kong Country 2 - 'Stickerbrush Symphony' (composer: David Wise): International Victory Goal - 'Everyone's a Hero' (composer: Jun Senoue): Street Fighter Alpha 3 - 'Scala - Theme of Rose' (composer: Yuki Iwai): Ecco the Dolphin (Mega-CD vers.) - 'Home Bay (Before the Storm Cometh)' (composer: Spencer Nilsen): Btw, I want this: cgi.ebay.co.uk/OutRun-20th-Anniversary-Box-Original-Soundtrack-OST-CD_W0QQitemZ140415408991QQcategoryZ13716QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3286.m7QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D1%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D7473295694557544851Though not quite ready to part with £200.

Nice music collections over there method. Especially the panza dragoon saga track.
Recently I've been watching over the fanboys and girls arguing about which version of the song from FFXIII is better. "Kimi ga iru kara" or "My Hands".
While they are both good in their own right, I like to politely remind those people that none of those songs can hold the candle to "Melodies of Life."

Nice song Tillian. Also reminds me of '1000 Words' from Final Fantasy X-2 (composers: Noriko Matsueda & Takahito Eguchi; vocal: Jade from Sweetbox):

Methodicalmute, Panzer Dragoon Sage may very well be my all time favorite game. Thanks for posting that song. Beautiful soundtrack for a beautiful game.

Man... that's a nice song. I've been hunting down that song for ages. Strangely enough, I've didn't care much for the original singer, Koda Kumi. But Jade's version sounded a lot sweeter. Thanks Methodcalmute.

Yeah, Panzer Saga is a great game. It's a shame few people have experienced it, given how the Saturn faired in most of the world. Would love to see a remake of it for modern consoles, or better yet, a full blown sequel!

I am quite fond of the Build Mode music from the Sims, 6 piano tracks that are just plain pretty to listen to.
Also, the intro music from Parasite Eve, "Primal Eyes", is pretty awesome.

I love this thread. Game soundtracks are so overlooked - and so many of the songs colected here are marvellous.

One of my favourite things in SoulSilver was that near the end, you get an item that changes the soundtrack back to the old Gameboy music. I spent like an hour just walking around the different locations listening to the music.
I always used to die a little inside when I heard this music, I swear, Blue only ever turned up when my entire team were either unconcious or paralysed!

This has to be the saddest music from any game. It plays whenever Ethan thinks about his son dying, or his wife leaving him. There's a bit, just before his other son goes missing, you can make Ethan go into the study in his house and watch a video of his wife and kids. He breaks down crying and apologizing. I cried too.

Those Sims piano tunes are brilliant. You could've told me they were from Mozart's fifth or something and I'd have believed you. Also digging the 8-bit tunes. I do believe there's a whole genre of music dedicated to 8-bit chip tunes, and rightly so. Stood the test of time.
Heavy Rain OST sounds cool. Fahrenheit had great music too.
