I'm getting into a werewolf kick in the late, where I'm currently working on a couple of werewolf characters for my graphic novel setting, where one of them is a silk barrister, who later becomes the supreme court judge.
There's a vampire character in there too, but most werewolves in my setting are shutting him down a lot, in a "Not now kiddo" sort of way.
Anyways, what are your thoughts about them in general?

There's a really fun series set in alt-victorian england with all sorts of supernatural things, and the werewolves are in the British Army.

They can be pretty cool. There is some nice themes possible with the whole wild vs civilization thing.
Not massively different from Clint's example (in concept at least) was a book i read a long while back called The Wolf's Hour which starred a British secret agent in WWII who was born in Russia and was also a werewolf. Not high art by any standard but it was a damn fun read. Hint, the real monsters thematically were the humans.
