January barely started and I already want to get off something from my mind.
Recently for the past couple of months, I've been working on a webcomic that is about a mage thief who wanted to start over a new leaf, by helping William Barton Rogers to start up his dream school, but his plans was hindered due to the American Civil War broke out. As you can tell, this sort of storytelling requires a lot of research into it.
This is where a curve ball has thrown into my process.
The school that the real life William Barton Rogers have founded, MIT, has some unsettling new findings to say the least so far. MIT is currently researching their own past, trying to discover their connection to the slavery system.
While I'm all for finding new discoveries and updating the historical records, for the good or ill, my main gripe at the moment is me playing the waiting game with their findings, as they won't release it on their website until spring in the US. Which sucks, because I really want to know which parts are going to affect my script and I do want to continue working on it.

Any chance of modifying your script to have the flexibility to allow for the findings to be incorporated or not into the story further down the line? That way you could keep working on it and make small rather than large edits as facts emerge.

Been keeping my script as loose as possible at the moment. It wouldn't be such a drastic thing if it weren't for the fact William Barton Rogers was the centre of this whole thing and he's the deuteragonist.
So I'll see how that goes for now.

I took a day off from work to do some writing, and now I'm checking online to see how much I would get for every game I own physically, just in case.

On an extremely related topic, I haven't been able to write a word on my own projects for like... a week.
Goddammit.

That is indeed a sub-Goopian waste of money. And I say that as someone toying with buying some of that coffee made from cat shit.

Where are the motivated, politically-conscious Gen-Zers I read about in articles that are supposed to destroy me?
I had to hang out with some 16 year olds last week, and they're mostly about ketamine, not changing the world.

Seriously, Panda Express and the local Gas station chain were listed. 5 will get you 10 you can't even give them a resume and have to submit it online again.

Saw the Ready Player One movie poster at my local shopping centre today. That means it's coming to Australia.

It seems like most police officers took the Big Boss Man as an example to be emulated, and not a cautionary tale of what they could be if they let the power of the badge go to their heads.
