Yeah, saw this. The people that organized that event were idiots, and the people that showed up to bump it off were only slightly worse.

Lots of stupidity there.
the gunmen first and foremost. This is a modern society. having a staunch anti caricature of anything stance on anything is an act of censorship and has no place in modern society. They did nothing to defend their faith. they defamed it by acting the asses in his name.
The organizers, in my opinion were hoping for this to happen. The did not deserve to be shot at for exercising their freedom of speech, but they were asking for it and I believe hoping for it. The exercise of any right needs to come with the acknowledgement of the power that it comes with and a foreknowledge of the possible consequences, not just to yourself but others as well. I see little evidence that this has been truly thought through.
I'm glad no innocents died, but everyone lost here.

With sincerity I will say that Freedom of Speech does not mean Freedom from Consequence, though I'm absolutely certain that consequence shouldn't apply to being assaulted or killed. Fuck ISIS/ISIL and everything they stand for. Glad no non-violent/non-shitbags were killed. Certainly fortifies the mantra "Don't Mess With Texas" in a way I've never seen before.
Too bad the art exhibit was tryhard bullshit (much like the incredibly unfunny Charlie Hebdo magazine), and not to mention organized by asshats like Geert Wilders and Pam Geller.
