Recently I've brought American Gods by Neil Gaiman. After I find a bit of time I've decided to start reading it and let's just say... it's awesome. When you got the introduction to the story that starts off:
Shadow had done three years in prison. He was big enough, and looked don't-fuck-with-me enough that his biggest problem is killing time.
You known you feel compel to continue reading it.
Anyways being readers at heart, so what you guys are reading right now?

Well I've hinted at what I'm reading right now in another thread and Till I have come to believe that you aren't a big fan of it lol
But after I'm done reading this book Surprise! I'm going to read The Wheel of Time: Knife of Dream the 11th book of the series and it's going to be a good one!

You mean you're reading the prequel novel to the Wheel of time? I haven't read the series yet but I'm getting around to it soon.
If you're implying twilight... I have to say at least you have the balls to finish it, I don't. If I have to slog thought the mind of a bratty teen who should have been banished to Vietnam again, I'm going to write offensive MST with a red pen...

I'm reading 'Ender's Game' by Orson Scott Card at the moment. Only a couple of chapters in but I'm enjoying it. 'American Gods' is one that I really want to read - but there are so many of these! And just to annoy you Till - let me point out that I'm loking forward to Twilight too

/facepalm
Le sigh. You do know how to push buttons, Mr. Buch. *Shows Bach the "man cards" before she rips it in half*
Ok, that's a bit cruel, Twilight doesn't make you girly. I have my days where I'm sneaking myself reading a issue of Celo from my friends and Half of Tamora Piece stuff is kinda borderlines with some girlish stuff in her novels, but still her self-centred persona does make me wanna give her a boot up in the ass.
I guess how everyone says that Edward is an ideal BF for girls and I've said before, the emo git protagonist, made me cranky as hell everytime I see those books on special displays or recomendation shelves. >.<
On the other hand, seeing there's one copy of Good Omens left compare to a giant stack of twilight books next too it, just warms my heart today when I went to borders.
Speaking of that, I need to finish up "Good Omens".

/facepalm Le sigh. You do know how to push buttons, Mr. Buch. *Shows Bach the "man cards" before she rips it in half* That was my last one! Honstly, I'm not expecting to enjoy the book - I'm just reading it because I'm curious (and because it annoys you) ;D

As for you Hodster, did you really sat through the Eyes on me song? I have to admit I'm in worse spot then you. It made offically a girly girl.
Anyway bed calls, have a good one. Enjoy listening to Emo Git... I mean Bella's thoughts.

Oh, ha ha. I saw a younger guy at work, reading one of the Twilight books. I was going to say something negative, but decided it would be better to let him form his own thoughts. I'm nearing the end of " Omamori," by Richard McGill. A fictional story about outsiders (or rather, Westerners) experiencing love, honour, pain and sacrifice in Japan around World War 2. It spans a few generations. The prose is fairly standard and the romances occasionally feel forced and included for the sake of adding conflict. The women rely on their lovers too much, but I put that down to them being a product of their time and culture. Still, I enjoy the cultural observations about Japan, which are described in good detail. Anyway, given how flat this current novel is, I'm looking forward to reading Michael Moorcock's " The Golden Barge." I've read very positive reviews of his work; he mostly writes science-fiction and fantasy.

I haven't read a book in a while. Lots of fan-fiction yes but not a book. I think the last one I read was ... dear god I think it was Harry Potter number 7! Geezus..... No it cna't be that was a few years ago ... what the hell did I last read? I know I was reading the third book in the Crystal Gryphon series rescentlyish.... amazing book. My mother did hand me a book to read around the same time as well . Think it was called were forest... I stopped half way because I just didn't like it. It was a tad ... screw it it was VERY sexist... I got sick and tired of reading how the main guy was sleeping around and using women but the author was trying to justify it all and say he wasn't in fact using the women even though one of them was near to suicide... one of the reasons I stopped reading Piers Anthony was because of all the sexist bullshit.... Yeah so what was the last book I read? I can't remember. lol
I'd love to read Knights of dark renown again though. I know David Gemmel gets kicked about by all the academics but I really love that book. It has some amazing moments in it and I really liked his idea of vampires and knights and the bad guys were bad with reasons and they never pussied out on me. They also got to be good guys whilst still being assholes which was amazing. The women in it were allowed to be strong women as well. It was a good balance and I enjoyed being taken on a ride I couldn't guess where was going at any point. It has its problems yes but its probably my favourite book in the world. Yeah, I'm going to go find it and read it again now....

Recently I've brought American Gods by Neil Gaiman. After I find a bit of time I've decided to start reading it and let's just say... it's awesome. I picked that book up on impulse a while ago and got about halfway though it. Definitely wasn't bad, I just got caught up in other stories and failed to finish it. Should pick it back up again, though. Right now, I'm just starting a fantasy book called The Lies of Locke Lamora. Interesting writing and a plot that could do well for my tastes. I still don't understand how some of these books can have such creative strings of cusses (which led to a very funny discussion with Buch). Sometimes, it all takes me completely out of the story, but we'll see how that turns out. On the side, I'm slowly getting through another Star Wars novel and The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss (which I've been reading chapter-by-chapter for months now. And, Hodster, I'm giving some thought to tackling The Wheel of Time series. I think it would be fun to get caught up in the excitement of the Memory of Light trilogy when they start coming out, so I might try and get some of it done...maybe. xD
