Ah no, really - no worries.
But if it makes you feel better about me - there's no sex. Its about a lemon.

Too late already read it. Haha about a lemon, that's a great parody and a nice "take that, bitch" outlook. Best to delete some of the post that you did before, let see how Rascarin reacted to it

Why am I not surprised Very good, Mr Buch. I can just picture Rascarin reading the title, sighing and going, 'I bet it's about a lemon...' I wasn't going to bother with FF.net for this, but I guess it couldn't hurt. ---- Anyway, enough about my story - we were supposed to be discussing 'Bad fanfiction'. .... That is... ;D

The Starfox one isn't the worst I've read... but I don't think anyone would actually appreciate me linking to some of the dreck I found.

Nah, I won't. They were so bad I don't want to read them again, let alone go looking for them.

Yeah please no. I've tainted my brains out so bad from reading "Royal Bloodshed" that I've been reaching out brain bleach for the rest of the night. Ok, that fic wasn't so bad but it just a perfect example on why Fan fiction is such a dirty word to the creative circles. (I've kid you not. I have to hide this from the rest of my gaming designing friends due to the stigma that is being held. Although parodies are an exception to this though...) While we're on the topic of lemons, one thing to sum up on how I hate them is that not only they were disgusting but they are badly written. Like either a) didn't do research or b) they are virgins. Ok... I have to admit, it's hard to pull off a good writing for scenes like this. It does and even though I'm 23 years old now, despite my decent knowledge in the human anatomy, I've still wouldn't dare to write it. No I just can't, I don't want to sound it like I'm writing off some bad erotica book. Yet, there are 13 year old girls who would TRY to write explicit sex scenes in their fan fiction... that really freaks me out Other pet peeves about bad fan fiction was the basic grammar execution. Yes, I know my grammar is craptastic but at least I've put up an effort and proof reading the damn thing. At least I didn't sounded like an ass by writing like a 3 year old. I can tolerate most of the grammar due to my skills, so it's understandable BUT I cannot stand writers who wroke like this: "Hi, mi nam3 iz Alcemine n I lik Night eif guys, tee hee." Ugh! You want to be taken seriously at least write in a proper way. Not many humans have the patient to wad through the ineligible writting you made. Plus it gives me the bad memories of bratty teens from WoW I had to put with in the past >.< Another thing to throw into the fire was Mary Sue. Yes we know Shepard is a big fat Mary Sue from our last topic but hey, same goes to your characters that you made yourself to RP in traditional D&D. And I don't think they are both counted as a Sue. You're RP, you're trying to get into their shoes. Anyways where was I? Oh yeah Mary Sue. The most blantant example would be none other than Bella from Twilight. Bottom line: NONE of us want to know your sick fantasies you SICKO. We want to read the goddamn story not how your character/you is awsome and they are a special snowflake! GET IT OVER WITH!!! So yeah, bad characters, PWP, lemons and REALLY bad grammar. That's basicly sums it up.

Another FF killer for me is unoriginality - people just re-writing the exact story of the game without even trying to put their own twist in there somewhere bugs me.
Also, unoriginal names. I clicked on a Star Wars KotOR fic, once, and the main character had been named "Mara Skywalker". Yeah. Real original. GTFO.
And review beggars - now we all like getting reviews, but I hate it when an author is blatantly just begging for reviews, or worse, saying things like "Next chapter in ten reviews" or something like that. If a fic has that in the summary, I won't even click on it.
