This week on GOTHAM: Penguin struggles to find a book that isn't a Penguin Classics version, makes a scene at the supermarket because they have Penguin biscuits on sale, and punches someone for sending him an invite to play Club Penguin.

Wow, and to think I was worried this show would be too grimdark!
Watching Gotham is kind of depressing me. It seems to me like any idiot would be able to great an at least decent TV show about Gordon/Gotham, inspired by Year One and Gotham Central. But instead we get this.
Also, I think something's gonna happen with Arkham Asylum next week, what with loads of characters making ominous references to it.

Probably Gordon will go up to Strange, and he'll be like:
"Good evening, Detective. I am Doctor Batman, uh I mean Strange. That fellow in the garden is my protege, Dr. Crane."
A man working on a SCARECROW looks up and waves.

TBH i'm watching this show mostly for the Penguin and Harvey Bullock. I dunno, Donal Logue makes me grin like a idiot. I blame watching to many Grounded for Life episodes. I am curious about Arkham Asylum, I'm re-reading A Serious Place on a Serious earth by Grant Morrison and the sheer nightmare fuel it gives...I REALLY hope the show does that place justice.
This episode wise...alright. I think the problem was to much happend in the daytime while Gotham's atmosphere only really should be seen in the dark or cloudy weather. I'm really not digging the Bruce Wayne storyline in this, I think I even saw a BAT flying above the manor! Seriously, Bruce doesn't need character development this season. I swear if we get a Robin-esque Bruce Wayne later on I am going to be so pissed...
This guy I follow on youtube Jeremy Jahns pretty much agrees with what you said bout Year: One and Gotham Central, also that maybe the murder of the Waynes should happen at the END of season 1 or in the middle. See how the Waynes were with the pwoer struggle over Gotham' soul sorta speak and when they get killed panic runs rampants across the streets.

Yeah, both of those actors, at least, are great. The writing for both is pretty dodgy, though, just like everyone else. I wish Penguin could do something other than murder someone for very little reason. I always thought what was cool about Penguin is that he might be the only Batman villain who isn't actually crazy, you know. He can be smart and cunning at times.
I actually like the Bruce Wayne storyline so far. It's pretty nice to see him already deciding and developing aspects of the Batman persona. I always liked the interpretation that Batman was born in the instant the Waynes were gunned down, not during Bruce's training years later. Also, the kid playing Bruce is pretty good for a child actor. But yeah, at the most I would want to see is Bruce flexing his detective muscles. No actual vigilante-ing during the show, please. Maybe they could incorporate the Court of Owls thing?

Oh, I would love the Court of Owls...I also wonder if they will introduce some supernatural elements like Solomon Grundy. Or even the League of Shadows?

Oh, Solomon Grundy is actually a comic book thing? I thought that "The Crash Test Dummies" only incorporated him into their song because his name rhymed. I hear a name like Soloman Grundy and this is what comes to mind. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pickled_herringI have no idea how we in Nova Scotia changed the name of a pickled fish paste to out and out pickled herring. I haven't eaten it since I was a kid, it tastes better than you might think. Still not very good though.

Solomon Grundy is a zombie/super villain in the DC universe. Aparantly every time he dies he gets reborn with a new personality. I admit I dont know that much about him other than he seems to tango with the Justice League a few times.

Solomon Grundy and the League are both on Arrow, so I don't think they'll do those particular characters, but I do hope they add some supernatural/paranormal aspects. It's not like they have a gritty tone to keep up like the Nolan films, now, they've had a guy murdering people with balloons. Like you said, I hope Amadeus Arkham or something like that shows up. Maybe a Spirit of Arkham plot with Quincy Sharp spanning a few episodes. That could be good.
I also hope they introduce Tommy Elliott. It would give Bruce someone to talk to that isn't Alfred, and they could even do an episode where he murders his dad or something. He'd be a good parallel to Bruce.

I agree with you there Glow, the Doll Maker in Gotham is not the same guy as seen in Arrow. I STILL think not connecting these two shoes in the same universe is a bad idea tho. Hell they are hooking up the Flash with Arrow, explain that to me. Again, here's hoping we get some Arkham horror we don't deserve, but we need.
Oh, Killer Croc! I want him in this!

I don't think they can do that because Arrow/The Flash are on the CW, Gotham's on Fox and Constantine's on some third network. I kind of wish they had linked the CWverse with the DC Cinematic Universe, though. Green Arrow and The Flash apparently aren't getting their own movies anyway, so they may have well.
It would've been awesome if an episode of Gotham had Gordon and Bullock go to a bar, and Constantine's just sitting in the corner drinking himself to death like in that one early issue of Hellblazer. That would be a cameo I could get behind.
Also, I wonder if that detective called Cranston was a reference to Bryan Cranston, who played Gordon in the Year One cartoon/will hopefully play Commissioner Gordon in the DCCU.

In this week's Gotham we got..
-Arkham Asylum making a cameo. -Arkham City will become a thing. -The rise of Penguin. -A assasination subplot on Falcone by Jada Smith. -A possible break up between Barbara and Jimmy Gordon...like anyone cares. -Bullock still has Gordon's back, which i dig. -Bruce Wayne starts honing his detective skills and is finally bantering with Alfred. -A assassin who claims to be a professional but is anything but that...what's wrong with guns, jackass? This is why Deadshot lives and you dont!
