In a serious note. Being made 'redundant' is not always the reason. There could be other factors too that made him leave, such as relationship with the family could be on the rocks and he had to remedy that. By quitting, judging from the notes. I just wanted to say that developing games and a family life, do not mix well. At all from my friends and teachers' experiences.

He made Knights of the Old Republic and Mass Effect. I'm not remotely happy to see him leave.

I cannot see this as a good thing. Yeah sure he and Mac Walters were poster boys for shit that went wrong in ME2 and ME3 but what about all the shit that went right? Overall he was a positive force in that company and gaming is poorer for him not being there. Weird time to leave. ME 4 (or whatever they are going to call it they don't like numbers any more after all) is just barely getting rolling. I'm pretty sure that was supposed to be his baby. So it could be personal life issues like Tillian said or maybe he said or did something that rubbed the brass at EA the wrong way for the last time. Was Hudson involved in DA:I? *checks google* I guess not. I really do smell a rub out here. We will find out some EA flunky is taking his place, someone with an MBA who polished the rod of some EA hack and the one of the last pieces of what made Bioware even decent is flushed. Mike Laidlaw is still there but I think he, David Gaider and Mac Walters are the last names I know. The Doctors are gone, Drew (I'm not gonna try to spell his last name) is gone, and there were those other fairly high profile departures.
I don't think I like this at all.

Oh that'a a good point - very few of the original visionaries are left now. It's not really Bioware anymore, I guess. Well, they had a good innings. I have some fine souvenirs on my shelf here! What about the guy I always laugh when I see his name in the credits - Watamaniuk?

Everything rests on Inquisition and ME4 now!

Inquisition is the benchmark. I really feel it's the make or break title for them. Bioware feels it too as all signs point to them doing their best not to fuck it up. If Inquisition bombs, I have every reason to believe this new IP and maybe even ME 4 will have the carpet yanked out from under them.

Now he can truly make Anthem the Bob Dylan of video games.
Bob Dylan stole every single thing about his act from a singer who was massively popular three years before him, right?

I hope he is ready to roll up his sleeves. Somebody in EA is getting ready to carve up Bioware's carcass. I almost feel like Luke Skywalker in RotJ looking at Bioware. There is still good in there I know it.
