Last night I finished my Insanity run through of Mass Effect 3, and I have to say, I was severely underwhelmed by it. Anyone else find that Insanity was actually really easy this time around? Compared to ME 2 where I spent at least an hour just trying to win the first battle with Harbinger after the trap on the Collector Ship - this time I managed to play the final battle for London in a single playthrough (oddly it took me at least six tries on Casual. I don't know how that works).
I didn't really find myself dying anymore than when I play Casual - I was using a more cautious playing style, but compared to the death rates I had in ME1 and 2 I'm surprised at how easy it was. Even boss enemies didn't pose that much of a challenge - I think I only got killed by a Banshee once. The toughest enemy was the Cerberus turret - even Harvesters and Atlases (What is the plural of Atlas? Atli?) never managed to kill me. Kai Leng only killed me twice.
Thoughts?

Maybe you're just -that- good! Maybe the six tries on Casual gave you the training - so to speak - to know where the fights were going to come from, and you were used to the layout of the maps? I don't know - I've never tried Insanity yet... I'm still on my second official playthrough of Mass Effect 1.

Maybe, it still seems very toned down from the others. In ME2 on insanity every enemy had either a barrier or shielding, sometimes with armour too, but this time there was no extra protection - assault troopers are still unshielded.
It was so much easier that I'm actually wondering if my game glitched and put it on a lower difficulty - I still got the achievements, but I wouldn't say it was a challenge.

Mass effect 2 was the hardest to beat on insanity, in mass effect 1 all you need is a shotgun with high explosive rounds and your set, mass effect 3 was pretty easy to beat on insanity.

I hate Banshees. That last level was a bitch, and I was playing it easy. What was your character build?

Better than yours obviously.

I hate Banshees. That last level was a bitch, and I was playing it easy. What was your character build? I always play Soldier when I'm doing Insanity. I was a lvl 60, with fully upgraded weapons. My theory is that Shephard needs to be kept alive or its game over, so go for the build with most health. I used squadmates for power/tech support - favourite team this time was Garrus/Liara for the overload/warp combination, and keep myself back in defensive positions and supply heavy fire from range. In ME2 it was the same deal, but my team was Miranda/Mordin cos they had Overload, Warp and Incinerate between them. Can't remember how I played ME1 - mostly with heavily modded weapons and the armour glitch so I could wear Krogan heavy armour. Better than yours obviously. ZING.

Moral of the story
The last thing you want to do to a bashee is biotic charge them. Inferno rounds at long range are the most effective, along with biotic combos.

If they did manage to close in on me, the battle strategy changed to leaping around the battlefield desperately trying to avoid the melee attack while my squaddies wore her down, or until I could get new cover. Not a dignified fight by any means, but I usually survived.

Weird glitch that worked in multiplayer at least was that Banshees couldn't instakill you if you were on stairs. they'd try but miss, pause and look confused then try again. it was like they were saying "what sorcery is this?" while flailing about.
I tried to avoid using such exploits though. Fire based tech combos really ruin their shit once their barriers are down. I was up to platinum on multiplayer when I stopped playing it so i have a pretty good handle on hitting them hard.
Multiplayer in general is pretty good for an extra challenge, and far better with a group of real friends.

I really loved playing Multiplayer with you and Blackbeard, my dear Linders - maybe one of these days we should do it again!

I haven't played any multiplayer (can't afford Gold membership). Is it worth it?

I have not been online lately so I don't know how active the community is these days but yes. I forget sometimes that console players actually have to PAY for the privilege of online access. It's better with friends. If you have 3 or even 2 friends that like the game it's a blast. I'd offer to join up but the devs for whatever reason put a glass wall between the PC gamers and the console players

It's OK. As Linders said, playing with people you know can be a blast. But if you don't know the others, it's decidedly average. Essentially a bunch of adults all following Bioware's "Get the ball, boy, come on!" Fun for a match or two, but not worth a gold membership. Buch is on the Xbox though, so if you can talk him into doing it at the same time...

i feel like getting shot by Mass Effetc guns would;nt be that bad if you knew how to properly "body spin " away from the round or slap it away with your hand
