I finally have some free time so I'm playing through Mass Effect 2 as a bloke for only the second time (and the first time was just a bit of fun where I tried to be as evil and red-eyed as possible so I could laugh at the murders).
I always forget how pleasant this game feels, despite all my criticisms about Miranda's heels and the giant robot at the end. And Martin Sheen is really good in it, man.
And I'm going to be romancing Tali for the first time. Really looking forward to that - I really love Tali's character, especially in the latter two games where she becomes all badass and cool.

After something like 7 playthroughs, I can honestly tell you I really did enjoy it. (Though you should play everything you can alphabetically: It'll do wonders for your mind)

I liked ME2 for the underworld feel you get. It's like the Reservoir Dogs of Mass Effect with ME1 being the Star Trek and ME3 being Shadow Raiders with testestorone.

ME 2 was great. If it wasn't I might not have stuck with it through the third one.

I find that in ME 2, I have to consciously not Paragade myself. Both paths are viable, but there are some segments where one looks favorable over the other which happens often enough to screw me over if I don't pay attention. It's actually refreshing. ME 1 was "bully asshole vs sensible". In ME 2 it's closer to "optimistic boy scout vs pragmatic cynic" where pragmatic where both have almost equal appeal.

Most of the renegade interrupts are too awesome to resist. The one in Miranda's and Mordin's loyalty missions being really big standouts. I would actually go so far as to say that the interrupt in Mordin's loyalty mission is taunting you to use it. The majority of the renegade points I get in the second and third games come from using those interrupts because hey, it's war, being nice and fair gets you shot, so fuck fair.

Special shoutout to Thane's recruitment mission.
Merc; I got nothing to say to you so- Shepard: -pushes him out the window- How about goodbye?

I plan to do the romance options I missed before - I've only ever gotten round to doing Jack, Garrus and Liara (I didn't realise that Kelly wasn't a real option, so just ended up mooning over a picture of Kaidan my first time - eugh). It is my strong suspicion that they are ALL AWFUL. Especially Jacob.

Jacob is awful, I can confirm that. And Miranda is a bit rubbish as well.
I get the sense that Garrus and Tali are quite good, since they are recurring squadmates in the third game.
Liara's my favourite, provided you have that Shadow Broker DLC. I like Kaidan too. And dare I say it, I love Steve Cortez.

Except that she seems to have a couple of black eyes in that picture?!
My favourite part of ME2 by far and away:
"I knew a man who went THREE DAYS without a Tupari sports drink. He got hit by a SHUTTLE."

I never thought this was funny before but I laughed out loud at the scene where you rescue Jack from Purgatory (prison). You approach a button on a console and your squadmate says, "Shepard if you press that button it will open every cell door on the station..." and before you can even open your mouth to say, 'Yes that is a moral dilemma...', before the camera angle has time to switch even, Shepard just raises his voice and angrily says, "I'M DOING IT!" The timing is perfect. xD
And then all the prison doors open and you're going through all this carnage looking at all the bodies, and your squadmate goes "This guard was an innocent man, just trying to protect the galaxy from lunatics... and now he's been gutted to death with an improvised bayonet" or whatever he says, and I'm thinking, "Yeah... you have a point there Garrus. Maybe I should have waited, like, a millisecond to consider other options before setting loose hundreds of traumatised serial-killers in order to secure a single person I've never met before who by all accounts is mentally unstable and uncontrollable, in the vague hope that maybe she can help me stop the Collectors by being good at fighting people. Maybe this was not the best way to accomplish that."
GARRUS: Shepard, if you push that button- SHEPARD: I'M PUSHING THE BUTTON. GARRUS: No, I mean it would be bad- SHEPARD: I PUSHED IT LIKE THREE TIMES NOW

I admit I do love Renegade Shep. I recall during a playthrough on Thane's loyalty quest you got two awesome moments. One was the good cop-bad cop thing and the other was the hostage situiation. The hostage one stands out for me a bit more.
Kolyat; I will shoot him, i will! Shepard; First lessons. -shoots the hostage- Keep a hostage your enemy cares about. Kolyat; Holy shit!
And Bailey just stood there and watched....I need to write Mass Effect Noir again.
