It's taken me some time to get to it, but I finally got round to playing all three of the different endings. I know the endings must have been discussed to death already, but I wasn't hear, and I'm in charge, dammit, so we'll talk about it again.
I'll confess a feeling of dissatisfaction with all of them still, even with the Extended Cut. I played Synthesis on my most recent one (never tried it before - it always seemed like giving the reapers what they wanted without a fight), and was pleasantly surprised with how it actually turned out. Of course would have preferred it if Shephard lived - all I ever really wanted was an ending with me and Liara having our little blue children.
Still not sure which I prefer. First time I went for Control, but I do like Destroy because Shephard can survive it. Thoughts? Preferences?
P.S. The child is still a steamy pike of wank and I hate his face.

Well. I hope this isn't going to end in flames....
Honestly when I'm almost reach towards the end, since someone spoiled those endings to me, I've opt to take the 5th option:
And use my imagination instead, which resulted me giving birth to that monstrosity of a webcomic, known as Paragons of the Renaissance. And ongoing still.
Personally, I've already said all about the endings and the game itself to death, so I won't talk about it again. Besides, it's all said and done, I like to leave that behind and continue on with other things. Let's just say I have a lot games that needed to be finished, including Alpha Protocol and Deus Ex: HR.

Obviously my preferred ending is the one im making up in my head. I might write it up, if I can be bothered. Now that it's been a while since the initial shock, I'm not as full of rage and bile as I was the first time around.

Yeah, I guess time does all the healing. However, once you write it all down, it feels a lot better. Trust me, I've done that with my webcomic and it's a big relief once I got that dirty part out of the way.

There were some fights as well as discussions... oy vey. I was there. The guy was hesitating over the cracks of Mount Doom and I was like "Throw it in" and he was all "What about the Indoctrination Theory, then?" and I was like, "Oh fuck off". Bad days.
I think the renegade and paragon endings are pretty neat, but I agree, both feel vaguely underwhelming. I guess they were trying to make the ending sad but full of hope, and they didn't quite get the hope right. But I'm not at all sad that there was no big 'triumph' - that you don't just smash the baddies and ride off into the sunset with your love interest. I like that they went for something more meaningful and more unique. But... they didn't quite get it right.
And it's very hard to defend the pre-Extended Cut version, which compounded every error a thousand times by being incoherent.
The green ending... I feel like it's a bit awkward, doesn't quite convey what it's trying to.

They're all a bit weak, aren't they?
Destroy is just a kick in the nads when they tell you that all synthetics and the relays get destroyed. I only like it because there's hope for Shepard at the end. ALso it's what Anderson wanted.
Control was my first choice - it kept the infrastructure I'd been working so hard on intact, repaired the relays, kept the geth alive etc, but I hated that Shepard had to die.
Synthesis seemed to be aiming for a "you have created paradise" vibe but seemed to trip over itself a bit.
Everything Pre-EC was a runny pile of poo.
I prefer to imagine that the game ends right after the scene with Anderson on the Citadel, before Hackett pipes up again. The reapers get destroyed, and Shepard and Liara live happily ever after having rampant sex and many blue children. Tali builds her house on Rannoch, and Wrex has a million babies.

Weeeeeeell, I don't know about a bit weak......
Killing the geth and EDI made perfect sense to me as a 'renegade' solution. That seems to fit what a renegade Shep would do perfectly. Sacrifice one side and survive him/herself.
I'd better shut up. I rather like the endings as they are. But then again, I love a dying hero. Love 'em. I didn't mind Shepard dying, because I was going to do my utmost to have her die no matter what!

This again? I suppose I should hardly be surprised, given the name of the forum...
Honestly, I liked the Control ending best. Destroy seemed too costly to me, especially with the relays gone. And Synthesis was just too damned forced. Especially with the DLC. It's all been building to this one point, and only you can decide if all humans will now have machine parts or not. Augh! Let me be all knowing reaper machine telling everyone what to do instead. (Can't you just see that going over like a lead balloon with Admiral Hackett: "Stop shooting, I'm Shepard" "Like hell you are")

I played all three endings... but not by playing the whole series all three times. I saved right before talking to the StarBrat and reloaded as needed so I could see all three endings. Four, if you count "Refuse". The "Synthesis" ending squicked me right out... I was horrified at the implications of forcing the world to bend to the Reapers' will, and forcing all living beings to "become one with the Bor- oops, I mean Reapers". Ick. The "Destroy" ending made me weep, because destroying the Reapers also led to destroying the machine-based beings like Edi and the Geth (Poor Legion!). I do like that Shepard's survival is possible with the "Destroy" ending, but still... the sacrifices that would be made for that outcome would be too much... I have to say my favourite ending was "Control" - I loved the 'epilogue' monologue by Shepard-as-Boss-Reaper, and Jennifer Hale's voice-acting in that monologue really really got to me... I just love her... everything about her. I also loved how, by choosing "Control", Shepard was able to use the Reapers to aid in the rebuilding of the worlds, and it seemed like using the Reapers for good works was a preferable alternative to destroying everything and killing Edi and other AIs and an entire race of sentient beings (the good Geth). I will say, however, that if considering a sequel or continuation of Mass Effect dealing with the aftermath of the War against the Reapers, I wonder if being so mighty and powerful and in control might not go to Shepard's head and result in a Shepard-Dictator? Even the Paragon Shepard might lose her humanity / soul and become all-controlling in the name of the "Greater Good"... EDIT: By the way, Rascarin... Welcome back!! We missed you! Please stay this time?

Personally I believe in the "Destroy" option we reboot the Geth and Edi later.

I always found it weird that the ending choice I prefer in Deus Ex is the one that disgusts me most in Mass Effect 3.

All three ending where awesome played and chosen all three at least 3 times, each. I gots to know: Is you talkin' about Mass Effect 3 or Deus Ex? Deus Ex had 4 legitimate endings. Unlike the refuse option in the Mass Effect 3 ending DLC, Jensen's suicide was a legit and very likely canon outcome. SO he likely means the Mass Effect endings.
