I wouldn't be surprised. The number of things you can do to brutalize your fellow gladiators in Shadow of Rome are nigh near limitless.

All I remember is that, people throwing you chicken legs in the arena, and hiding in a fucking amphora during a stealth section.

Hmm... turns out you can get people to wet themselves in fear in Shadow of Rome.
Also, throwing stuff into the audience/crowd, such as roses, severed limbs, and even weapons. They LOVE that shit.

An obvious one, but there's something that needs to be address first.
I like Interesting NPCs and while the mod has a bit of a notorious reputation for having dodgy voice actors, to be honest, I didn't mind them.
Maybe because of the recent updates that the VO changed and improved over time, but personally, I didn't find them so bad.
I like it so much, that I'm currently working a LP of the mod very slowly, especially I'm running dozen of projects at the same time.

There's this one game I'm interested lately, due to me having a massive Fantasy Urban kick at the moment.
The Order 1886.
I like the premise. The Round Table knights surviving into the modern period. Or close to it, since it's a Gaslamp Fantasy genre, fighting the supernatural. They have many potential to go from there, such as the down side of drinking the waters from the Holy Grail, the grey side of hunting these monsters since they more than just mindless killers, the degradation of the order since they got too complacence and the cost of it, etc.
But they kinda fucked it up by cutting the story short and focusing too much to be like GoG with a Victorian costume. Then there's the QTEs and fighting generic human enemies, rather than monsters. Even then they are lackluster. Also, the story itself had serve flaws. Like it becomes the usual generic "oh, the organization I was working is bad, I must join the rebels for a good cause, raaaah!" bullshit. I know I've said before that I like the idea of the Knight Order that was becoming degenerative, but I don't want it to become another one dimensional baddies. I prefer to see a human side to the Order, even if they gone bad. While we're at it, add the consequences of their incompetence, such as the supernatural impacting the populace psychologically and morality, their loss of loyalty is what makes them fall to the rebel side, etc.
I know I'm asking way too much for a AAA game, but fucking Enderal covers that whole psychological and morality consequences already.
Still that didn't stop me from wanting to get the game. What's stopping me though, is being an exclusive PS4 game. I don't have the money or time to invest in one of those console these days sadly. That's unfortunate.
I guess I'll make do in writing my own little story that was had a similar setting, but having a more Enderal feel to it. Ah wells.

I remember seeing some kind of kerfuffle over that when it came out. "Something, Something, wasted potential, something." I kinda checked out as it was a PS exclusive and had QTEs. Though after playing Ryse Son of Rome, I'm not AS bothered by those as before.
I see little reason not to delay launch on other platforms if you want to prop up sales on your own, but locking yourself out of a big chunk of the market by going purely exclusive is just, to me at least, bad business. Cross platform is where it's at especially as the architecture of the consoles more and more resemble PCs.

Here's a genuine game that got people getting extreme mixed feelings about:
Shadowrun: Hong Kong.
While I do admit that the game mechanic changes a bit of a bull, but I do really like the setting, story, characters and the writing of this game. Some people complained about the wordiness and the pre-made backstory for your character, but's an RP. If you want to get into action gaming, then play Mass Effect instead, for fucks sake. The genre is an RPG for a reason. It's supposed to be heavy on the side of writing.
Also, I thought the OST for this game was pretty nifty imho. Some said it's the weakest of the tracks, compared to the rest of the game, such as Dragonfall and Dead Man Switch. I personally really adored the tracks, it got a nice mix of cyber funk and traditional Chinese instruments playing together.

Disaster Report's one of those weird games I've only ever heard of because it was on Two Best Friends Play. Anyone remember Everblue 2? That game was so good. Underwater exploration is really underrepresented in games.
