Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
It looks like the game might be set after Mass Effect 3, what with the human N7 guy and the mention of 'our fans want us to move forward' or whatever.
If they set it after Mass Effect 3, I'm going to drill holes in my head.

They're going fucking multi-player. Shit.

I seem to recall calling it on both counts.
I also enjoyed the multiplayer in ME 3 a lot more than i thought I would and frankly I always preferred the idea of moving forward than doing a (probably badly botched) prequel. Most prequels suck.

I just fail to see how it's possible to sequel a story with an open ending that results in either all synthetics being destroyed, or everyone having green eyes.
Why must there always be sequels to everything. Can't people just tell a bloody story anymore.

"Fans will be surprised at how far we've gone."Hm. Maybe it will be set, say, a century or so after the trilogy, or in another galaxy that, somehow or other, has humans and krogan in it. Incidentally I'm fine with multiplayer. I found the ME3 multiplayer strangely enjoyable. I think it would be foolish to start an entirely new epic RPG about a human saving the galaxy, since they already did that. It's old hat. If the horse must be flogged, then I'd like it to be done in a different way. That metaphor makes no sense.... you know what I mean. If the new game allowed you to create a character from multiple races, that would be neat.

I personally prefer if they set it in an alternative universe, like an mirror universe if you will. With evil goate Femshep, good guy Saren, Geth fleeing from Quarians....
That way you can tell a new story and have sole elements there that rhyme. Hell, WoW is doing that now with Warlords of Draenor.

Draenor sounds like a sink cleaning product.

Too bad that world isn't incredibly hygenic.

What about BioWare's new IP that's going to be contemporary and deal with modern issues? They're just going to rip off the abortion clinic level in South Park and make an entire game based on it.

Oh yeah, their new IP!
Might be a good idea to get a fresh start. I think Dragon Age has some mileage left in it, but I'm always in favour of videogames that don't have a number in the title.
But frankly they should be making Jade Empire 2.

I am a month late! But I expected more from Mass Effect at E3, they rustled my jimmies.

A couple of small tidbits including the certainty that that release date Amazon supposedly had was worthless. A return to the Mako, a human main character (surprise, surprise I'm beginning to think I need a running tally of the things I was right about) apparently happening during Shepard's lifetime which should please nearly all of us so long as it's done well (I'll happily admit to being wrong on that one). Not a whole lot of meat but it's more than anything I have yet seen. www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/escapist-news-now/9595-New-Mass-Effect-Mako-Animation-and-First-Details
