11. Break up and count their money. Because even doing all of the above isn't going to get their balls back now. If anything, we'll be stuck with another fucking "St. Anger".

I don't think I've listened to a single Metallica song since the black album. (I'm also realising this is some 20 years ago D:) Missing out?

I don't think I've listened to a single Metallica song since the black album. (I'm also realising this is some 20 years ago D:) Missing out? Let's see... Load and ReLoad helped Metallica get a spot on Lollapalooza (as in the biggest grunge/alternative venue in the US). St Anger is a fucking insult on the level of Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days. Death Magnetic sounds like a garage band trying to be Metallica. It really says something when a Motorhead cover of "Enter Sandman" has more balls than the original recording On the other hand... Anthrax finally pulled their heads out of their asses and ditched the hip-hop crossovers Scott Ian thought was a good idea, Megadeth's still thrashin' and burnin', and Slayer is still raising more hell than the rest of the Big 4 combined (though Kerry King is still a douche hammer). Lately I've been listening to Annihlator, Testament, Sepultura, Kreator, Helloween, Gamma Ray, Accept, HammerFall, Grave Digger, Grim Reaper, etc. Basically less thrash and more power metal.

I don't care if subsequent albums were not 'metal' enough. (e.g. I loved Paradise Lost turn to synth pop/electronica in One Second when everyone else seemed to revile it). The question is, did they keep making good music or not? Because it seemed to me like most of their efforts concentrated on making big bucks instead. Might be wrong, of course.

Aside from "King Nothing" and a cover of Bob Seger's "Turn the Page", all their songs post Black Album suck.

I honestly forgot about "Death Magnetic". Not like there was anything worth remembering there.

And this comment from youtube is the best summary for Metallica I can think of.
"James in 1984: I'M CREEPING DEATH!!!
James in 2011: I am the table..."

Kerry King's always been a douche nozzle. I can't even count how many times he's picked fights with other bands for no reason to include Megadeth, Testament, and several others.

Perhaps the best thing Kerry King ever did was get pied in the face in the Beastie Boys music video of "Fight For Your Right".
