Aard as far as I remember just knocks it about. For a thing that supposedly had three weaknesses, that thing was kind of a tank. Definitely the hardest fight I've had so far. Maybe that was just the Early Game Hell trope in effect though. I remember the hardest boss for me in Inquisition was Alexius, not Corypheus or any high dragon or the big bad Red Templar Guy. The mission in the elven ruins is also a pretty bad slog, composed more of several hard fights than one challenging boss. I really wasn't prepared for that shit.
Most of my time today was spent learning the ropes of the gear, crafting and Gwent systems. I actually really like Gwent. Felt like it would go right over my head, but it's surprisingly easy to grasp and fun. I'm trying to build a Nilfgaard deck. Probably gonna waste as much time and money on this as I did Caravan.
EDIT: As far as I can tell, wolf livers are mainly just for eating. I think you can pay a craftsman a few coins to turn it into Animal Meat, which is a slightly better healing item.

I've figured out how to make bombs, but not Hybrid Oil (which is for use on Griffin) Any idea where recipe is? I've cleared the map and done all the side missions. I'm thinking the herbalist on the far trail might have it. BTW, once you've dealt with the Noonwraith and closed the quest see the Main Herbalist for some nice bonuses (Just Plants and supplies, Gorvar)

Game's saying I've played for 27 hours already. There's no way that's right...

Post first area: Did anyone else go back and re-do that interview? He was entirely too happy that I killed Letho the first read.

Yeah, I do, but not for any longer than necessary. It was a budget choice made when I was getting the machine built and I never intended to keep with it. I simply don't trust that the game will run on my card period. So i will wait until I upgrade to a real (read nvidia) gaming card.

Remember Letho of Gulet? He's back, in Gwent form!

Is it explained why nobody is nonplussed that they are trading cards in this universe?

I finally got some decent Gwent games in! Has anyone played the lady blacksmith in the bloody barons courtyard? Her I cannot beat to save my life. She's playing with the Monster deck, which apparently features "Draw all creatures of THIS type" as its bonus thing, and she invariably has ALOT to come out and play.

I just have to toss this out there. Are characters in a dark fantasy themed video game really playing magic in their spare time? If so, I can't decide if that's lame or somehow in universe awesome especially considering that some of them are actually cards in their own decks.

I spent every last crown I earned from a Witcher Contract on Gwent cards, once. I guess Geralt's one of those Vin Diesel-esque badass nerds.
Clint, regarding the monsters, freeze them or get that dragon card that can burn close combat cards when they reach 10 or more.

I just really hope there's a Geralt card somewhere out there I can buy or win. People already seem to think Geralt's a freak. Being the type of guy to walk around with a trading card of himself would just take it to the next level.

I just saw one yesterday. A hero card worth 15!
I don't like the new voice of Dandelion. It's too deep, too gravelly.

Is Dandelion the guy who narrates the loading screens? Wow, that doesn't sound like the old version of him at all. Also, my Geralt's going all Vladimir Putin.
