Anyone here ever get the itch to write a fic that was very likely to never get much reader traffic?
I only ask because my muse, the ADD little shit that she is, flat refuses to cooperate with me on Halo of Flies. Instead she's yammering on about an Amored Core fic... a fandom that has about 220 or so fics total on ff.net.
So... second question: should I go for it, or break out the blowtorch and pliers and have an animated conversation with my muse?

I tried to find Han's quip about Chewie thinking with his stomach from Return of the Jedi, but got nada.

I agree with Clint! Always write what makes sense. If you have the insane drive to write an Armored Core story, I'd say do it. Reviews won't matter once you start writing something that writes itself after a while.

I stopped writing an Batman fanfic after little to no reviews...and yet i keep coming up with stuff like Bruce having a younger brother; not being able to be a father to Damian so Nightwing has to take him under his wing and a serial killer that targets parents who might have an connection to the Joker.

Your Muse isn't connected with your ego. It doesn't give a damn about reader traffic, reviews, or whatever gauge you might use with "decent/good fiction". In other words: write what it tells you to, because it's better than it taking off for Carnival down in Rio and staying there for three months.
(Mine's gone into hibernation since Mischief's death, leaving me stranded with two unfinished projects. So yes, the alternative is worse.)

Alright, I'll go for it. Right now my tentative plot takes place in the Armored Core 3 era. Let's see where this one takes me.
