I'm writing Marvel fanfics with my created character Time-Warrior who is a mix of Duncan McCloud, the 10th Doctor and one of the guys from Sliders.

Some of the characters call him that haha. That's what makes Batman so awesome, the 'the' in the ebginning makes you like a 100 times more bad ass.

Is is a bird, is it A plane? No! It's THE Superman!
Doesn't work for the cat woman though, does it? Makes her sound like some crazy lady who lives with a lot of cats.

I've got several stories in progress in addition to Halo of Flies.
The longest one is a fic I haven't even come up with a name for. Back in high school some 7 years ago, some artist friends of mine wanted to do an indie superhero comic and asked me to do the writing while they'd take care of the panels.I delivered on my half of the agreement, but they didn't even start on the drawing. When we went our separate ways after graduation, I kept writing vignettes here and there.
The main character goes by the name "Wraith" (which I might have to change if I want to bring him into the Marvel Universe... >.>) and he's highly trained with guns and martial arts/parkour and has short-term precognition (aka "Spidey Sense"). His real name is Edward Kelley (no relation to that jackass Senator in Marvel) and his background is similar to Batman or the Punisher (family killed by criminals).
In addition to that, I'm working up a fanfic that's been simmering since '05-'06: a Mercenaries fanfic. To this day I will spend weeks coming up with the most over-the-top and elaborate explosions possible. It's amzaing how far one can launch an NK Jeep with several dozen blocks of C4, a couple fuel trucks, and a fuel-air bomb airstrike... I did that once. Got into a fight across the map 20 mins later and this flaming jeep falls out of nowhere and smokes a Hind that's kicking my ass which then crashes into a line of missile trucks and fuel tanks. I then shut off the game because that was too much epic win to handle at once.
I'll probably end up posting both on here, if that's ok with everyone.

Everything is awesome with 'The' in front. Look at the Batman, or the Shadow.

The Rorscach? Huh, that kind of works, actually.
The Harley Quinn? Also... good.
The.......... The
The Martian. The Manhunter. The Legend.

Slightly off topic, but when I eventually settle down and write my Mercs fanfic, could I get some of you to beta-read for me? One thing I'm concerned about is turning some characters into stereotypes, especially since I'm going to have a few Brit and Aussie characters in the story.

Sure, I'll take you up on the offer. I'm not the best proofreader, but I can take a look if you want me to.

Pick me! (Though I'll accept no responibility for American readers whining about the spelling of every other word.)

Your collective penchant for the understatement, on the other hand... (j/k lol) Seriously, though, I'd like your input on some of my characters' dialog and mannerisms.

Well I'm gearing up for my jump into the Marvel Universe. Just as soon as I figure out some details such as when it's going to take place, etc.
