Two science-fiction novels based in the same universe, one written with my partner in crime. An elabortation of a teen, politcal-feminist short I wrote in college. A couple of shorts. A watchmen fan fiction, a Predator comedy and some Mass Effect stuff none of you will ever read.
Oh and as usual scripts for people. One's going on the film festival circuit this year so I'm majorly stoked. It's an action thriller.

My God, that was of biblical proportions. Also, I found that listening to Jerry Goldsmith's Alien soundtrack while reading makes the experience all the better.

Currently working on my original Steampunk fantasy work called "Scattered Empire".
So far I'm still world building the setting but I've got the basic story down atm.

I'm on my one-last-final-fanfic right now. But after that, the plan is to start doing only original fiction, and really get serious about it.
I think I've been relying on fanfic for the last couple of years, because it's easier. At first I deliberately wrote it because a) I had read some great stuff which I wanted to emulate, and b) I wanted to sort of 'train' myself to write fiction, and this seemed like a good way to get started.
Now I want to challenge myself more with all-original fics. They always seem much harder for me. My English/Writing degree begins in September. Before that I'll try to get some practice in.
The plan I have at the moment is for a romantic comedy set in New York City - but a New York City that accepts all other fiction set there as canon. So this is a crazy city in which everyone is hilarious and handsome, and people fall in love everywhere all the time, amongst tons of superheroes, adventures, spies and NYPD operations. So it's like your typical rom-com, but with a twist. Our heroine goes to the city looking for adventure, and finds a dull, taciturn man amongst everything.
I can't think of a title to save my life!

Suffragette City maybe? Named after the David Bowie song?
And Tillian, speak of the devil, I'm coming up with my own Steampunk fantasy universe as well (titled Infernus)! The setting is heavily inspired by games like Arcanum and Thief, as well as American Westerns.

I love that song. Cheers, Cali, I'll think about that. There's not any theme that would tie into the 'Suffragette' bit... but it does give me ideas!

Good luck. I've had so many final fanfics I've lost count. lol
I'm writing two big (probably 20,000 word) Mass Effect fics, finishing up one big Star Wars fic, a bunch of drabbles, and mulling over an original short story collection. Sometimes poetry happens.
I like to see the steampunk love here!

Yeah this is my second Final Fanfic ;D
It's so much less-terrifying than starting an original story or novel! I occasionally attempt poetry, too. They're short, and writing them makes me feel like I'm a 'proper writer'.
Do post a link for those short stories if you do them, Nemonus!

And Tillian, speak of the devil, I'm coming up with my own Steampunk fantasy universe as well (titled Infernus)! The setting is heavily inspired by games like Arcanum and Thief, as well as American Westerns. Speaking of Arcanum, I've just brought the game on special at EB the other day... I'm quite proud of it. ^^ It would be nice if there's more RPGs base on Steampunk or a different setting besides medieval fantasy, like Dragon Age. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad game, it's just that if I have to see shiny plated armour and green grass with dirt patches one more fricken time... Anyways, I've kinda got the first half of the basic story so far but I'm still world building. I'm trying to figure out a lore on how to fit dragons into the setting without coming out as a plot hole or worse, an asspull like S. Meyer in Breaking Dawn atm. My steampunk setting is more based on the Fallout series. Yep, this story is base around 300 years after the apocalypse. With steampunk tech of course and a small dash of magic.

It is because I think there's too much medieval fantasy that I found a note in my sophomore year stuff saying "research Victorian era Scotland." Or at least I think that's why that's there. Who knows. More variety would indeed be awesome. I have a partially-completed story set in feudal Japan, but with all the anime fans I'm afraid that era is becoming as cliched (albeit less in written form.) Mister Buch--I will post them! They're percolating. I just have so much trouble staying interested in my own original fiction. Fanfic just...shines. Tillian--my personal opinion is that well-written dragons are awesome enough to elevate any story they are involved in. Currently writing a femShep/Joker story that was supposed to be about a thousand words and ended up five times that.

I just finished playing Assassin's Creed II again, and the whole assassin/templar war through history thing gave me a good idea for fanfic. I started working on it the other day, it's set in England, in the tudor era. I couldn't resist writing in William Shakespeare or Queen Elizabeth when I working on an outline of the story ;D
It's taking quite a lot of research too. I did some on notable that died around then, so I can write them into the story as templars. I decided on having a female assassin, so I did a little on women's rights in that era (they didn't have many, obviously) and women's fashion, so I can come up with a halfway realistic rendering of the old hashashin robe in a tudor female style. I did manage to find a girls name that was around then that apparently means eagle.
On an interesting sidenote, I learned Shakespeare has some "lost years" near the start of his career. He went around taking part in an ancient conspiracy that involved JFK, Machiavelli, Cain and Abel, honest!

I'm actually hoping that Assassin's Creed III has a female antagonist. It would be a nice change of pace after the badassery that Ezio displayed.
That's a good idea for a story, Glow. I don't envy you, though. That must involve a ton of research and plotting. Give us a link if you decide to post it! =D

Shakespeare in an Assassin's Creed fic?! My day has just been made. Link? It's fun--and funny--when one finds oneself having to do historical research for fanfic. I've done it for a Fullmetal Alchemist story set in Germany, and a friend of mine is really into AC1 fic right now. Hey, it's good to learn something from the stuff. XD Currently lying half-finished on my harddrive are an Optimal Capacity-style fic about EDI's origins, a tale of eight-year-old Shepard, a Clone Wars fic, and a smattering of poetry. I also hope to begin a collection of Victorian ghost stories... but it might also go the way of my previously-mentioned collection and not get done.
