That's a real shame, Toadie. You'll have to buy your own hallucinogens now.

If it's any consolation, your frost-based superpowers will probably manifest shortly. You'll be making ice puns by the end of the week.[/quote Your welcome!

I sold my political soul to save my grade. I had the most convincing change of heart ever and the professor believed me.
My friend did not believe me and wrote me a note: "Good job... faker. Sellout."

How the heck does politics impact grad....you know never mind. It really is astonishing to me how seriously some people take things as ethereal and meaningless as political leanings. Especially when those leanings have no impact on the end result at all in the corrupted mess that is western style democracy.

Here's the story: We're reading the most pathetic play ever written in class. It has an obvious political agenda (which, in the interests of keeping things objective, I will not state here). Last class, I called it out (diplomatically of course) as propaganda. My professor didn't like that.
Most of the class agrees with me and, after my one comment, there wasn't much to say. She got angry that no one was talking. So at the beginning of today's class, she tried to pin the previous class's silence on me and my comment. I knew my grade was in trouble so I made up the most ridiculous story to bring her back onto my side. It was complete BS; something about an "emotional shutdown." But she completely bought it.
I guess one benefit to being a writer is that you can tell pretty convincing lies.

Awesome. Now I'm really curious as to the play.

Stories about professors like that kept me from spending good money on university. Seriously, what a bitch.

You get a lot of experts who make horrible teachers, despite their knowledge. Sometimes they forget it's a seperate skill, I think.

I had an art history professor who participated in the cleaning of the Sistine Chapel, did his dissertation twice over on Andrea del Verrocchio (after his stuff got stolen once), and is on the short list of people who can personally inspect most of the Renaissance Era paintings in Italy. He's one of the few professors I can honestly say is a genius in his field, and I respect him immensely for that.
But he was a terrible teacher. xD

Most introverted folks are good at gaining knowledge, but not distributing it. Takes people skills. To be fair dudette, your classmates are a bit harsh but so is the teacher. If she cant handle it, though noodles. A play is not one way of looking at something. there are hudnreds of ways to watch a play. Feminist, Freudian, Marxist enctr.... The teacher's vision of the play is just that, her vision.

I'm just really venting. I've got a Political Science professor who seems to assume that everyone in the class agrees with Occupy Wallstreet and is out protesting. Go figure.
I was just angry that she called me out like that. I don't like being made into a scapegoat.

Which is an unfair tactic to stop discussion - the opposite of what I'd expect a political science professor to do. o.O

Someone who is actually in to what politics is should encourage discussion. However some teachers believe they should impart their viewpoints on their students rather than teach them to think for themselves. I call those teachers soon to be unemployed if they ever got near a kid I had anything to do with...

One of my favorite professors held the complete opposite of my views. Yet I enjoyed his every class, and butted heads with him on quite a few occasions while he was lecturing. (No word yet on whether he enjoyed having me in his classes)
