The expression would be "Stephen King is off his rocker". Knockers is a colloquialism for breasts. But yes, the guy has totally lost it. Alan Wake surpassed him years ago. Guess a mental note to myself about the word knockers than. I'm not going to add up another accidental metaphor-gone-wrong session. How old is Steven King btw? Could his age be also the factor that his writing quality is degrading in the recent times? Or the creative burnout is the factor?

He isn't old enough to be senile. *checks Google* He's 64. Even if you do get dementia I don't think it's that well developed at that age. Though hell's know there are exceptions to every rule.

In my (anecdotal) experience, 60 is certainly old enough to have advanced dementia.
And yes, Pratchett has had dementia for a few years now.

That it does. I read an interview where he stated that he was trying to write as many books as he could, because it's "rapid onset Alzheimer's". Having worked with dementia patients for years, I can say it's a special kind of hell for the afflicted and their families alike. Glenn Campbell is another one suffering from it now.
linders: I have seen patients as young as 40 with advanced Alzheimer's. Those cases typically run in families. There was a question, however, of whether or not one particular patient had that or Creuzfelt- Jakob human variant (mad cow disease) after HIV-related dementia was ruled out.

Ugh. Sorry to be wrong on that one. That crap steals away lives so I guess I just wanted to think it took later in life to set in.
Anyway, I doubt King is suffering from anything other than a lack of creativity combined with an excess of greed.
