The way Half-Life 2 (and pretty much the entire Half-Life series) takes place in real time. It just feels so immersive, like I actually am Gordon Freeman! (Though I'm sure every nerd with a Physics A Level and numerous failed attempts at growing a beard feels like that.) That's what I loved about Dead Space and Dead Space 2. Unless you die, absolutely no loading screens at all. They both felt like one big eight hour ordeal, and it... ಠ_ಠ

Games that manage to do collectibles right.
My two favourite examples are Alan Wake and Batman: Arkham Asylum.
I liked Alan Wake's way of doing it because everything is connected to the story or the universe (except the coffee thermoses and the Night Springs games (from The Writer), and even then, I guess the coffee could be symbolic for Alan Wake's insomnia (or a shout-out to Twin Peaks.))
Arkham Asylum did it well because a) It's perfectly in character for Batman to collect and solve every challenge Riddler leaves, and b) the fact that the riddles (especially Riddler's snarky commentary/frustation when you passed the 50% collection mark) were arguably as much fun as the rest of the game itself.

I mut say, much as I loved Alan Wake, what collectibles were there aside from the thermoses and the TV shows? I thought both of those were very jarring.

In the main game, there was the manuscript pages, the stashes of batteries and flares that were marked with the torch symbol, the TV shows, the radio shows, the coffee and the signs with information about Bright Falls. Then The Signal added the cardboard cutouts of Wake's friends and the alarm clocks. The Writer had Night Springs Xbox games, too. The ones in The Signal are my favourite. I think they're more justifiable, though, what with where that DLC takes place... The way Half-Life 2 (and pretty much the entire Half-Life series) takes place in real time. Batman: Arkham Asylum does the same thing, too! (I guess it's a staple of survival horror.) I always thought it was a cool touch how Batman's costume would get degraded over the course of the night, too. He starts out clean-shaven, with his armour in perfect condition, and by the end of the game, he's got a torn, shredded cape, scorched armour with a few cuts, his face is bloody and he's got visible stubble. (Oh, and a very dented gauntlet.)

I only had started watching Breaking Bad recently, so I was quite excited to find this.

Being able to jump and climb arund in Assassins Creed. Seriously, not even Spideman: Web of Shadows had this much awesomeness.

While we're on Assassin's Creed, I really like the character design. Seriously, all three of Ezio's default robes from AC2, Brotherhood and Revelations are just really well designed. (I still hate the Armor of Brutus from Brotherhood, though.)

Still i dont see why Ezio would've dropped the armour of Altair. If i were him, i would be rocking those all the time. which makes sense since Ezio becomes the proper succesor to Altair. but yeh agreed on the awesome robes. My GF even called them fit, doesn't help it was worn by a italian stallion >.>

Fun note, in a semi-canon comic book story, Desmond/Altair/Ezio has a Roman ancestor called Aquilus. assassinscreed.wikia.com/wiki/AquilusI heard rumours the next game might take place in Japan, and acording to the upcoming film 'Embers' there is a asian asassin lady.

Playing as a ninja in Feudal Japan would be really interesting, especially if Ubisoft put as much effort into it as they put into making the Italian Renaissance feel alive. I've heard rumors about the French Revolution as well, though. Not sure which I would prefer. I want a fully modern-day Desmond game eventually, though (Assassin's Creed III, preferably).

I would love it if AC3 took place in Japan. I think I'd like to see that more than the French Revolution, but I would by no means pout if they didn't. Both have some fantastic story opportunities there.
In any case, I'd like to see a female assassin in the next game. They seem to be hinting at it a lot.
